Python can land at Outposts (Medium Landing Pad) huge advantage.
Anaconda has the highest Jump Range potential of all ships, and a massive increase over Python which has mediocre jump range on a good day.
Python is a lot cheaper base price, a lot cheaper to A-rate. One of Anaconda's core internal upgrades can easily set you back the entire base price of the Python. You tend to upgrade to Python then to Annie. If you have the money to buy Annie at least 2 times over, then certainly get it.
Anaconda is the best all round ship, scary in combat, haul goods and have great jump range.
Python is the best Outpost landing ship you can get.
Well it totally depends on what you want it for..?
Conda will be better in most things, simply because it's bigger, however if you can't stand slow and sluggish ships, Python will be more enjoyable for you.
Conda has better DPS (it's bigger and has more guns so it's quite obvious), more cargo space (again, bigger) and higher jump range (better FSD Class/Weight ratio).
But it can't land on Outposts (small and medium pads) while Python can, it's slower and more sluggish and is tons and TONS more expensive to buy AND fit. Grade A Power Plant alone costs 160mil :|
Oh yass, highest DPS in-game, beating even Federal Corvette :|
Far more manuevarable in a fight.
Can land on medium pads which can be important depending on what you want to do.
Conda:
Far better FSD jump range.
Can deploy fighters which are great fun.
Those two ships dont really have any glaring cons IMO.

use LYR to get everything cheaper so your ins is cheaper.
i have just brought a stock python got attack by the station police for having a ilegal on board and 3 police could not kill me got away no worries ..... " and i was inside the station when this happend" might upgrade the shields lol
been indicted so manytimes i have lost count..... but got out no worries.
the jump range stock very bad ... upgraded alittle still only 15ly empty.
but i can see me having it for a while and buying another as the stories i making with it now the memories are what i like ......lol
best of luck with your buy..... be ware of those shoddy sales " second had ships at low prices"
anaconda is a great large ship.
theya re in 2 seperate classes of use.
The conda is the overall better ship of the 2 by a rather large margin (except landing pad size), but also comes at a much higher cost (about 800mil to A-rate versus the Pythons 200-300mil A-rate cost)
the base cost of an anaconda is also 3x higher than a Python so getting it in the first place can be a minor challenge for some people.
the cona has roughly double the firepower of a python. much tougher shields, much tougher armor, has a fighter bay and maneuvres fairly well for its size.
the python is a smaller target (allbeait still a large profile if you show your top/bottom side to anyone) and is a bit more maneuvreable and a decent amount faster.
but the jumpaconda is still unbeaten in jump range for explores and people who want to get somewhere quickly xD
To the OP: The Conda is the king of multi role. That being said, if youre on a budget go with the Python because it can do everything the Conda can on a smaller scale for a fraction of the cost. I use the Python for passenger missions and rescue ops from Thargoid damaged stations.
Tbh I only bought a Python today and do not see what all the fuss is about yet. Just with I had enough rep for a clipper. They look sexy.
They are fun, but they don't have anything else going for them, I got one and wanted to keep it but could find no use for it, won't haul much, can't carry a fighter bay, can't make much money with passengers in it, can't use medium pads, it is just a great ship that is not great for anything.
