Yeah, as long as you have enough internal modules to fit passaenger cabins any ship can transport them. Also be sure to have a minimum 4t cargo rack as the ones who like to give commodities as well usually give no less than 4.

Snag a Dolphin, it's a bit over 1mil and does great for starting out with passenger missions.

If you're doing the bulk missions, it take a long time in any ships.

+1 for the Dolphin. I'd suggest filling it up with economy-class cabins, until you get friendly or allied with the various factions.
