404 error in the launcher

Recently the game launcher started giving 404 page not found error. Game launching itself still works but obviously I can't see any news and whatnot the launcher has.

Can anyone advice how to fix this or is this even fixable by me?

I can't help you. I did have that a while ago but it went away. IIRC, it went away after a launcher update. In your case, i presume the launcher has recently updated, so that could be the cause. Maybe reinstalling the launcher will help. Or maybe its just a network glitch.

You can download the launcher again from FD's site if you want to try a reinstall.

Or just verify files from Steam.

Don't work for me.

When I choose in Launcher for "view release note" it opens my browser to their website and get on the website the same message.
For me it seems Frontier have an issue on their site not mine ;-)

I had the same issue. Since a couple of days (weeks?) I got a 404 error. Launching the game is possible, but like OP said, all the data and whatnot is not shown. Just click your (email) account in the top right of the launcher and a menu will appear. Select Language and change it to English (or whatever, default is system language). Launcher worked fine after that.

i had the 404 error fixed with the language change, but if I launch the game from a desktop shortcut and not from the steam library, the launcher keeps asking me to update...anyone else with this problem after yesterday's patch?

Yes. The same fix works. Start the EDLaunch.exe from the apps folder, click on the base game in the menu near from the "Play" button, and Upgrade the missing stuff.
