Issue with my H.O.T.A.S throttle
I haven't played in awhile. Decided to pull out my Saitek X-56 Rhino to play again. Last time i played I had set the controls up and they worked great. Sadly it seems like the throttle is messed it. It is either at 0 or instant 100 even with just a nudge on the throttle. It worked fine when I first got it to play ED. It would throttle up and down depending how far i had it forward or back. now its either just 100 or 0. Is a setting I'm missing?

Check it in Windows. Then set it up ingame.

What do you mean check it in Windows? You mean set it up threw the software with a profile?

It looks like your throttle is set to digital controls instead of an axis. Check your Options -> Controls configuration.

I'm guess in in the game. I don't see anything called about digital controls.

There are controls like "increase throttle, decrease throttle" - these are digital, meant to be assigned to buttons. But the game accepts analogue inputs to be assigned there, too.

For analogue inputs the correct control to use is the axis (should be called something like "throttle axis"). Check that your throttle is assigned to it, and not to "increase/decrease".

That is set by default.

Throttle Axis is set to the Joy X-Axis (my throttle up and down) set to be inverted so when its closest to me it is off and farther away it is on. Throttle Axis range is full range. Throttle increments is set to continuous. This is set by default settings when I selected my HOTAS in the presets.

Which are all the same settings I had about 6 months ago when I last played. Nothing has changed. Except patches and updates to the game, that I'm aware of. As I don't mess with games that i have setup working great. But for some reason when I plugged in my HOTAS tonight the throttle has been acting up. Just a small amount of movement and its 100 percent. Skips right past the blue part of the speedometer so im now always speeding in ports.

If it's not accidentally set to digital inputs, then it either needs a recalibration in Windows (or at least to check that the Windows sees it sliding normally), or Steam interferes with your joystick inputs (you can check it by launching the game launcher from outside of Steam, from the game folder).

Launched it from inside the game folder. Still having the same issue. I'll have to google on how to recalibrate it with windows. As far as I can tell it is sliding just fine in the application for the HOTAS. If anything I'll jsut go back to the XBONE Controller as I originally did play ED on the XBONE first.

All you should have to do is go into option then click controls and in presets choose Saitek x56 and all controls will be setup.

UPDATE:

I had to follow the support of clearing the registry and re calibrating the throttle and stick. This was the last resort. I'm going to past the article I had to do so if someone else ever has this issue they know where to start.

Just scroll down the page till you see directions.
