Which Shield Gen engineering would be best?
Hey guys so I am back in the game after a long time and am doing the engineers and currently unsure of what engineering I should put on my PvE Conda. Enhanced Low power or Reinforced? Im thinking bout ELP but id like someone with experience using it to give me some advice. I mainly run Pulse or Beam laser H hardpoint and the rest is a mix of multicannons and sometimes missile based projectiles

Generally speaking, unless you are trying to set up a specific low mass variant , what honestly makes no sense for a conda (unless it is for max jump), you want reinforced , or in some cases (Again not much sense in a conda) thermal.

I tend to increase thermal resistance on the shields themselves, then adjust the resistance balance further on the shield boosters, followed by heavy duty on the remaining boosters when I have the resistances where I want them.
Before getting into PVE / PVP engineering, I recommend that you first learn the nuts and bolts of ED's combat system (types of damage, effects, resistances, etc.)

You'll notice that shields have negative thermal resistance by default (and even when reinforced).
Since most people and npcs will use lasers against your shields (thermal damage weapons), it's a good idea to make them thermal resistant instead.

Thermal resistant shield mod will increase the shield's thermal resistance considerably, leaving a nice balance of shield resistances across the board.
It'll also boost total shield hp, although not as much as the reinforced mod.

As Miorin mentioned, you can then use booster mods to further increase hp and/or resistances, depending on what you're after.

It kind of depends on what you are trying to achieve, but generally thermal resistant makes the most sense IMO.
Reinforced is good if you are going for max raw capacity, but you need some very specific reson to do this, for generic pve combat it is not needed, not on ships like conda at least.

The only thing you'd want max raw hit point capacity for, is thargoid hunting, since they do absolute damage, ignoring most resistances.

I think ill take yours and Miorins advice and make my shields thermal and mod my boosters for the other resistances
Keep in mind what Miorin mentioned about thargoids, though.

To fight against them, it's better to ignore resistances and go for max shield hp instead.
So, sure, you can go for reinforced then.

Also, if you haven't already, join Aisling Duval[i.imgur.com] in powerplay for 4 weeks and then rank up to level 3 in order to get access to prismatic shields.

Prismatic shields have the highest hp, at the cost of extra weight and power consumption.

Thanks for the advice CMDR!
