Can you just run Elite Dangerous without Steam client ?
Can you just run Elite Dangerous without Steam client ? Recent update of steam library totally broke my whole steam client ( I must uninstall it with all games - that´s because I´m asking - I cannot try it now). I don´t know if steam client is necessarily required to play the game. Thanks a lot

nope no steam required even if you brought it from steam....

just create a short cut on your desktop

also if you have steam VR - then launch steam VR with out steam then launch elite
you will then be playing elite in VR with out steam

So I can run elite dangerous directly from it´s folder WITHOUT launching steam client, right ?

Yes, but you might need to log in with your FD credentials, not your Steam credentials.

Yeah, I will just login in Elite dangerous launcher with my Frontier account. Just need to skip launching trough steam (which doesn´t work on my pc :D). Thanks, I will try it tomorrow
It is possible if you bought your game directly from Frontier, or from Steam before this April.

If you bought it after the new keyless Steam login has been implemented, according to the FAQ you can't use a game launcher directly.

I have purchased Elite in 2017 I think, so I should be fine. Thanks a lot !

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous

or some thing the same on your comp right click on EXE make a copy of the EXE and paste it on desk top close steam you should then be able to click the short cut EXE to start the game without steam running
