Type 7 why so much hate
I love the ship design but the Ship is just underwhelming.
Especially with the new"ish" Mining update.

Could really use 2 Medium Hardpoints.
And SLF (caus I really wanna make a Type 7 Combat Ship)

Can I Haz T7 Defender plz.

The T-7 is a lovely dead-end design. It's a cheap entry to bulk trading, manoeuvres excellently, has (way) above average jump range, but that's about all. I'd rather have more ships that do one thing but are obviously quirky (or crap) at everything else than bland the T-7 down, because flavour is just about the only thing it has left with the game trivialising acquiring most everything.

but plz. I cant have fun in my Federal Gun Ship that haz 4 pack hound racks.

It would help if they let the Type-7 land on medium pads. It's not really any bigger than the Python, and the Python even has more cargo capacity. So it's just weird that the Type-7 can't land on medium pads.

I think for a few reasons
1: space jes- Python kind of outclasses it in every way, plus is a medium ship, so its far more versitiel (spelling?)

2: You can`t mine on a ship that only good thing is that it transports good, kind of kills it

Keep your hands off my bus! =D
(i love the T7; it's by far the funniest bus/transport to fly and can even fight off the odd interdictor)

It's not weird, the ship is simply too tall for medium hangars.

The jump range of the T7 was buffed a couple of updates ago, purely so that the ship had a reason for existence. Prior to that, it was indeed a really lousy ship: poor maneuverability, poor jump range when fully loaded, poorly armed and defended. It earned the nickname "flying coffin". Add to that the limited flexibility of requiring a Large landing pad,and you had a ship for which every possible role to use it for can be done better in another ship (such as the Python). At least with the range buff, it makes a reasonable explorer / long-haul trader. Still never owned one myself, though.

You can pretty much A-rate a T-7 for the price of a stock Python though, and the stock Python sucks. For the price, it's always been a good ship that outperformed everything else you could buy for the credits as a hauler.

For my taste, t7 is one of the best looking ships in elite. And most honest one: looks like a brick - flyes like a brick.

Type 7 has the best Yaw in the game. This makes it ideal for it's primary mission, crashing angry passengers into a Class B star.

I call my Type 7 "The laughing Coffin" . :awswadine:

I painted mine yellow and called it the "Magic School Bus"

Since the dimensions of hangars are standard across the entire human occupied space, we can still definitely conclude that whoever designed the Type 7 was a complete idiot.

You could say the same for everyone who ever designed a "full-size" SUV and marketed it to genpop. The T-7 at least has a purpose.
