What is the best place/ship to do traditional mining?
I want to start mining, so I just want to know what is the best system or ship to mine in. Also mining near/in Federation space would be good.

I mostly mine in Polahukuna. there is a metal ring with very common ressources:

I would recommend you find a double painite hotspot near your curent location (or near Sol, if you prefer fed space) using this tool: http://edtools.ddns.net/miner

edit: remember that hotspots require a detailed surface scanner,

HIP 93377, pristine system with all types of rings and a ton of them with a starport near by.

Here's the quick and dirty version. Your end goal should be to get a T9 or something:
1. Get yourself a mining laser or two.
2. Get a detailed surface scanner.
3. Get a size 4 refinery
4. Get the smallest prospector controller you can find.
5. Get two size 5 collector limpet controllers.
6. Fill up the rest of your ship with cargo racks.
7. Fill up those cargo racks 3/4 of the way with limpets.
8. Use that link provided to find double low temperature diamonds locations.
9. Fly to that location and scan the rings of the planet
10. Fly to the hotspots where 2 overlap. Fly right into it at top speed.
11. Shoot prospectors at ice chunks until you find one with 15%+ with low temp diamonds.
12. Shoot that ice chunk with lazors until chunks fly out.
13. Launch collectors.
14. Open cargo hatch.
15. Collect as many as you can.
16. Find a station that will buy them from you at over 1 million per canister.

whats you profit with a t10?

Just so you know, in terms of raw profits, the best ships are Type-9 and Cutter due to their massive Optional internal slots.

With that said, if i were to choose between Type 10 and Anaconda for strip mining, i would choose Anaconda: simply put, Type-10 has too many restricted slots and too few size 5 and larger slots(which are important in a miner build for the collector limpet controllers). With roughly the same cargo space, shields and fuel scoop, the Anaconda can launch 1 lcollector limpet more than the Type 10 can (9 vs. 8). And of course the much better FSD range. Which again is kind of important since Painite mining can take more than a afew jumps in an unengineered ship.

No one else uses a Python to mine with? Seems a good ship for it.

I use Python. Just bought the ship 2 days ago and I already love it. Was previously using an Asp Explorer to mine and now the Python gives me dang near 4x the cargo space with the same mining setup.
