You can't buy materials. You need to gather them (those 2 are common on planets) or trade at a material trader.

The good news is they don't take up cargo space.

You can see the planet contents when marking a planet in the system map to up your chances of finding it. Use material finder on https://eddb.io/body to help you even further.

I never needed to use that when getting the guardian FSD booster.

just parked my ship 1,78 or 1.82km got my SRV drove 9 - 11speed
and just saved the ammo for when i needed to charge the pylons and take the drones out.

if you waste the ammo on everything else and just drive at high speed around the place you have wasted about 5 - 10mins of fuel just about.

The materials are easy to find have you ever tried not getting hand fed and looking at planets on the system map? or looking at other systems you have visited?

sounds like you are just being a tad lazy and just wanting other's to hand over the answers cause you are just to lazy to look this information up on the net.

Why bother replying then? Just move on if you have nothing to contribute.
Whats obvious to you isnt obvious to fresh pilot, you thrown to galaxie without proper tutorial.
Meanwhile guides covers important parts of the game your elitist attitude wont realize how simple things can be confusing to new players. Ty for nothing tho.

1. I used to gather materials on the surface, but now I get tons more while panite mining. Don't even have to think about it, just allow the materials you need and let the limpets do the work.

Although I have recently run into "super nodules" on the surface that burp out 5 or 6 materials instead of the usual 1 or 2. Probably just new to me.

2. As stated, and just for future readers of this thread, you don't need the massive amounts of materials that a lot of guardian module guides recommend. I used maybe 2 repairs, 2 refuelings, and 1 rearming while getting the FSD boosters. And that was with a lot of mucking around and mistakes.

Just take a few dozen materials and read up/watch vids on how to deal with the sentinals - especially the part about using your ship as an anti-missile defense.
