so i just mined some cobalt and when i grabbed chunk it says "Resources Unallocated" whats going on?

Rafinery is full...you need manualy to empty some slots in rafinery section
right panel...ship...under cargo

it is, but it's probably filled with something else than cobalt?

Different refineries have different number of bins. The A4 refinery has enough bins that within a single ring you should never need to manually eject anything. Smaller bins though you need to clear out.

Why not automatically you might ask? Well, would you like a fragment of Painte being cleared out to make way for some low value fragment?

You say a 1 refinery, so that's going to be from an E1 to an A1 depending, which gets you like... 2 bins? Basically every time you switch a rock youre going to need to clear out one of the bins or both unless you are focusing on a particular material only.

Also if you use collector limpits then you can exclude all ores which you don't want in the left ship panel under contacts. Helps a lot to keep your refinery clean and free from low stuff...

Agony is right. It's frustrating, but you have to clear the junk out pretty often.
I go core mining, so there are only a few things I ever want to refine, so I don't need a big refinery. If you're trying to get a whole range of things you'll need a massive refinery.
