How do I find a material to mine?
My mission is to mine Samarium but I don't have the slightest clue how to find it.

Mining in ED has always kinda sucked. First you have to go to a planet with rings, then you need to use prospect limpets on every of the 10 billion rocks you see to figure out what content they hold. If it's what you're looking for, then you hit it with a mining laser and have your collector limpets run around picking it all up. Good luck, let us know in 10 years when you find some lol.

So I went to the Eravate system map and saw that there was a belt close to the sun. I travelled there but it appears I don't have mining laser. Where do I obtain one of those? The Cleve Hub?

Type in what you're looking for, and where you're at, it will give you the location of the nearest place that sells one.

What is a refinery? Is that something I equip on my ship? Or a place I go to?

Yep, I finally found it under optional internal modules. Problem is, the very first mission I chose requires a mining laser (which I purchased) and a refinery but I don't have enough money for both. Can I start my play-through over without losing my character's holo-me customization? Not sure what to do at this point.

Crap, I just crashed into the wall while exiting the hub trying to avoid another ship and got fined 400CR for trespassing. I am not off to a good start. LOL

lol, seems you're not. I don't think you can save your holo, but you can restart. Exit to the main menu and choose to delete your save. My recommendation would be to hunt a couple bounties. Go to a system that has a planet with rings, and look for "Resource Extraction Site" probably want to go with low. Find security and follow them around. Make sure you ALWAYS SCAN before you fire, otherwise YOU become wanted lol. Let security do all the work and just be sure to hit the target a few times before it dies so you get credit for the kill. Bounties in low sites aren't worth a ton, but you'll still get between 20k-50k for most targets, some might be more or less. High and Hazardous you will frequently find targets worth well above 100k.

So I am supposedly looking for someone named Weegawl to pickup a package. He is in Chamunda but how do I find him? In chat, Weegawl wants me to follow him but I have no idea where his ship is.

He would have been flying in supercruise when he told you to follow him. He will drop out of supercruise into normal space, you need to follow his wake. Look for a white symbol on the sensors, or use the contact list.

He would have been flying in supercruise when he told you to follow him. He will drop out of supercruise into normal space, you need to follow his wake. Look for a white symbol on the sensors, or use the contact list.

Target each and wait for the scan to get done, should have his name on it. Look in the lower left when you have it targetted. Try to target him too in supercruise, when he drops out, you should auto target his wake.

I finally found him and acquired the boom data for delivery to Cormack Enterprises but I don't know how to deliver it. I'm docked at Cormack Enterprises but the contract is still active.
