How do you launch SRV for planetary travel

Either the game is trolling me, or I'm officially an idiot. I just picked up the Horizons dlc and fired up the tutorial mission for SRV deployment and travel. I'm at the point where it says "press 3 to access the role switch panel" then "select srv bay - scarab then deploy to switch to scarab". I've been pressing 3 all day and I've yet to see a magical role switch panel. I litterally pressed every button on the keyboard and looked at every possible panel in the cockpit... nothing. Right now the only button I see worth pressing is the self destruct button....

So what am I doing wrong, how do I deploy an srv; I would ask that you be specific and absolutely detailed as much as possible

eh, idk, I never did training, it's easier to just do it in-game.

One more basic question to ask... when you bought the Vehicle Hangar, did you happen to buy an SRV to put in there? It's two purchases. Buy the Hangar, then buy the SRV that goes into it.

It's SRV training, you don't buy anything.

Ok, so I've had the same issue, and didn't find the solution online, but figured it out by my own. I'll leave my method here, I hope it will be helpful for others.
So basicaly, from how I understand, if you buy Horizons from steam apart from the base game, your frontier account does not know that, and the launcher will keep connecting you to the base version of the game.
What I did:
- in the launcher > parameters > log off this machine
- pressed the button LOG IN (not the steam version)
- it logged me in, and there were no launch button, just the ACTIVATE button
- press the button it redirects you to the frontier page with product activation (log in if necessary)
- right click on the Elite in your steam library > View Digital Key. Use the Horizons key on the Frontier's product activation page.
- relog in to your launcher. It will launch the Horizons version of the game properly.

Yes, the customer service rep I spoke with directed me in the last correspondence to that URL and it finally activated for real this time and I was able to complete the training for SRV and fighter deployment. However this is solid advice, and going to that page did solve my issue so, thanks for posting it here.
