Best Guardian weapon and why?

I am in the process of unlocking all the Guardian stuff. Got all the modules unlocked and a few of the weapons.

For those of you with experience with this, what Guardian weapon is the most effective?

And which Guardian fighter as well.

Gauss cannons. They are the top tier anti thargoid weapons.

Shard cannons can also make quick work of the smaller interceptors, but become less useful against the bigger ones.

You are better suited with engineered weapons against human ships.

ReeNoiP isn't wrong, but I'd just like to add that it depends on what kind of Thargoid action you're looking for.

The Shard Cannons are the best all rounders, they can wipe out the low level interceptors easily, and shred scouts even faster, but for the higher tier Interceptors, nothing beats the Gauss cannons, hell, nothing can even compete with them.

Just if you are alone, i'm in the 2nd imperial counter-thargoid squadron. If you trick the game and use a bit of tactic, group shards annihilate big ones in a few seconds.

It really depend about what kind of ship you can afford and how much people you support/have for support. Try to search the Lavigny's legion, they have a lot of info if you can get to the Edge squadron. They are experts about killing thargoids.

Thanks guys. Working on getting a type 10 Thargoid ready. I have the size 3 shard cannons unlocked but no Gauss cannons yet. They are now top of my list.

And imo the gauss fighter is best, it murders scouts with an ai pilot. Good for training.

The type 10 is a questionable choice for thargoid hunting btw but it can brute force them to death. I would reccomend a krait.

I got G5 dirty drives on my T10. Took it for a spin yesterday and found it to be a lot more agile than I was expecting. But I have a Krait MK II as well so I will likely set up both of them for Thargoids. Then see what I like best.

Getting enough pattern epsilon data seems to be the slowest part of getting the fighters unlocked. Wish you could trade these like other data. I will get the Gauss fighter first.

Since we are only able to use 4 hard points locations for experimental weapons I will use that on a couple of the others. I think I have a couple already engineered in storage waiting to be put to use. Thanks.

I relogged for about 20 mins to get the epsilon data, there's a place with 2 obolisks next to each other where you can relog and not get moved elsewhere but idk where it is anymore

if you dont mind moving there is a spot with 4 scanable obelisks very close to each other. They are 2 groups of 2 columns consisting of 5 or 6 obelisks each, but only 4 will be scanable. One in each column if i remember right.

I dont know how quickly you can log in and out but i feel like this method accumulates more data much faster.
