Some fears aren't rational, don't worry about it.
Neutron stars on the other hand, I immediately point my ship in the oppisite direction and go full throttle. And yeah, I know all stars can kill you, but a neutron star sends chills down my spine lol. So I guess I'll never get the jump boost from one.
I dreadplants in games, probably because i am used to plants not trying to jump at me irl, and in games that does not have to be the case always.
Of the last two i am scared irl, jump scares are self explanatory...
But black holes, idk... i mean, if you theoretically fall into one, you would not even feel it, if the gravity rips appart your ldgs and spagettify you...the nervs would not be able to send electrical signals to your brain, coz that would be also pulled by gravity....so black hole death is pretty painless i imagine, albeit gruesome.
But still, they scare me, real ones and virtual ones all the same... even astronomical pictures of place that should contain a black hole creates unease ( cygnus x...or something like that system is called, google it)...btu, i read the other day that scientists are working with network of telescopes to get an actual picture of a black hole...i wont look at that when it comes out...
I think there is something in human nature that subconciously dredges up fear from black holes, i mean they are almost unnatural, they are antithesis to everything in nature everywhere...like its something "foreign".
And brow dwarves, i think that scare you because they are dark, dim, dangerous and basically they do a "jump scsre on you" with heat warnings and such.
The scariest entity in game to an explorer, is a binary star pair of such proximity, you run the real risk of dropping out of FSD inside and being instantly killed. Not sure if the exclusion zone has been adjusted, but even if it has, there's still a risk of overheat damage.
a sun can still fill your whole screen and you might already race like crazy and this could drag quickly into trouble too
maybe someday you could have jumped between two of those brown stars :) disable the filter!
