EDDI - a great tool for immersion
Can't believe i've only just discovered this. Its a great little tool that gives oral feedback about events in game. It works best when you sign up with EDSM and get an API key, and it will track where you have been and give lots of info about systems as you jump.

You do need to qualify for ED's companion app. Apparently if you bought Horizons as a standalone product, rather than a DLC, from Steam, it will not work. Not sure if FD are planning on changing access, but it might be worth someone asking FD support about it if interested.

It also integrates as a plugin with Voice Attack if you use that.

Note, you DO NOT NEED VOICE ATTACK for it to work.

That's cool. I haven't ever used any plugins for Elite Dangerous, so maybe I'll try this one out.

Looks great, but how does it works ? Is there any step to step about its installation etc ?

Everything is explained here : https://github.com/cmdrmcdonald/EliteDangerousDataProvider there is even an instaler link.
Now, my issue is that the voice come from the speakers instead of my headgear.

Its fairly simple to setup. Just install and go through the various tabs. To enable EDSM (which i really advise), sign up on the EDSM website (which you can use for tracking your travels as well) and from your profile, request an API key, which you then put into EDDI.

You also need to input your FD credentials on the companion app tab to get access to the data that API gives you.

If you want voice attack to take advantage of it though, requires a bit of reading.

Just give it a try.

There are some amazing third party tools I'm just discovering (including EDDI, which is how I found this post). HCS has some cool voice packs for Voice Attack (as far as I'm concerned at this point, Voice Attack is now a must for this game...a literal "game changer"). I'm running with Astra and Verity and you can set up multiple voice packs to represent multiple members of your "crew" in multi crew. VERY cool. I like the more generic sci fi sounding voices, but they also have some voiced be celebrities from the genre like William Shatner and Bent Spiner etc. Wasn't all that excited about those, but Astra is amazing (no more flying too close to suns, managing the tedium of escaping mass lock, or getting griped at by AI flight control about forgetting my landing gear). Also, Gamemusicpacks.com makes a cool background music generator that (per them) isn't procedurally generated music (which they say sounds artificial), but shuffled "block" that make sense together to give you seemingly endless variation in background music (i.e. you may hear the same vocals you recognize, but they will be in a new melody or percussion setting...it's pretty amazing actually). Anyway, the game had gotten a little stale for me, but these tools are breathing a TON of immersion value into the game for me. Like you said...I can't believe I didn't know this stuff was out there.

EDMC connects to EDSM the same way.
