I don't think that will fit in my budget
Hell some people are claiming that--due to the trailer--Thargoid weapons will ignore shields (kinda like the Ancient drone weaponary of the Stargate franchise).
It's all speculation right now.
All we can suggest is use something that you can easily cover the cost of (or don't mind losing) for initial fights.
Just throwing this out there:

Time to engineer me a sidewinder :)
Seriously. There's too many haulers in the universe, may as well load them up with explosives or biowaste (not enough space for BOTH) and send them against the alien aggressors.
Hahahaha.... Yes that would work...
*Searches galaxy map for stored freewinder*
In all seriousness, I don't trust fdev to not have put some nasty equipment on there. I suspect the thargoids might have countermeisures to shield tanking, hull tanking, some way to mass lock you, and some way to slow your ship.
The Corvette is probably the way to go, since it can be shield and hull tank at the same time, sports some oomph firepower, and might be fast enough to run.
If not theres always the secret emergency jump drive that is engaged with alt + F4
Still a jacked up python?
