Elite Dangerous

Joystick and Throttle or Dual Joysticks ?
Hello Guys ! I really want to buy a Joystick for Elite Dangerous. I´ve found the Thrustmaster T16000M FCS on Amazon and i think it´s a good stick for beginners like me. But now i have a question: Is it better to buy 2 Joysticks or 1 Joystick and 1 Throttle ?

imo stick+throttle will give the best experience as the controls match what you see in you cockpit when looking left and right as well as feeling more natural(opposed to Stick+Stick) and fluid

well stick+stick IS legal now if that's your thing.... you can even force people to bake you a cake!

I use a flight stick and the razor tartarus chroma i got one christmas from the missus (bless that woman). It works out really well, it has a bunch of controls bound to it , its comfortable and easy to reach everything, which is extra nice when you play in VR

Dual sticks user here... Used to use a hotas setup (stick and throttle), but the dual stick setup allows me to be a bit more bonkers in agile ships.

Im actually a 3 stick+throttle user.

I have a HOTAS but the stick and throttle both have an analog stick on them.

I use one stick and a throttle and can't imagine using anything else really. I think you can get that T16000M in a pack with the TWCS throttle and maybe save money. The TWCS throttle has a lot of hats which come in handy - you can just them to group 4 related functions together such as countermeasures for instance, and the analog thumbstick on it can be used for lateral thrusters.

T16000m FCS user here, get it; its an awesome HOTAS setup (Stick + Throttle). You dont even have to configure anything inside the game, just plug it in and jump into a sidewinder.

edit: If using the TWCS, change the "Engine in Reverse" button from "Toggle" to "HOLD".

HOTAS stick and throttle.

Oh, and get Voice Attack too, adds nicely to the set up.

Or set the throttle setting to "full range", so the mid point is null input, and you've got forward and reverse just on the throttle. Helps if you need an extra button for something.

Yeah I find full range works well, but as there's no sticky bit around the middle of the TWCS throttle you're probably best setting a largish deadzone in the middle for when you want to stop.

Did not know that... Last throttle I had was the one on the HotasX. That had a nice noticeable indent at the center point.
