What is the caliber of the multicannons?
Does anyone know for sure what caliber the multicannons and cannons are? I know you could measure them by measuring the pilot and comparing him to the gun, but has anyone ever actually done that?

In my honest opinion, I feel like the multicannons would be close to this:

Size 1 (small) - 7.62mm
Size 2 (medium) - 20mm
Size 3 (large) - 30mm
Size 4 (huge) - 50mm

And the cannons would look like this:

Size 1 (small) - 50mm
Size 2 (medium) - 85mm
Size 3 (large) - 120mm
Size 4 (huge) - 155mm

Not that it matters, I'm just a stickler for little details like this.

multiply everything by, like, 10. These guns are absolutly huge.
You could try posting on the Frontier forums and see if you get an answer.

To be honest, they all look the same size to me when I pull up pictures online.

But personally, being an old EVE player, I equate multicannon size to the sizes EVE uses for small and medium autocannons; ranging from 125mm to 425mm. Though I hesitate to say the same about the cannons, some how the huge cannon doesn’t quite look 720mm.

That said, the largest player ships in ED are tiny compared to even smaller cruisers in EVE so it’s not really a good comparison but it works for me.

7.62mm is anti-personnel ammunition, so I dont think so. For size 1 it's probably 12.7mm or .50 BMG.

They are huge af. I doubt in the future they still use such small guns like today. The size 4 MC is like twice as big as a srv.

12.7mm and .50 BMG are the same. Just fyi.

I'd suspect that the size 1 Cannon is probably a 20mm (Oerlikon 20mm), size 2 is 30mm (Bushmaster II), size 3 is 40mm (Bushmaster IV), size 4 is likely 50+mm (Ho-401 cannon??)

Multi-Cannon would be 12.7mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm. The 30mm would be equivalent to the GAU mounted on the nose of the Warthog (actually the warthog was built around the MC but thats another conversation).

Looking at the damage done by the size 3 MC i'd equate it to the damage potential of the 30mm GAU. They use those things to kill Bunkers, heavy Tanks and Warships.

Looking at sizes, check out the Imperial Courier. It can fit a Class 3 MC and the size looks about right to match the GAU.

Class-2 already comparable in size with human face, so it'd be sound 140-180mm.
Class-4 maybe around 500+ — https://i.imgur.com/ik2gYnP.png

Troiden, your Idea of taking Fotos of a human to compare is good, However, I think we should also consider that the Front of the MC is widened in comparison to the barrel shaft plus the Shaft has it's won wall thickness (Which can take of more than half of the full Pipe Diameter) so I would say as the Class 4 MC has a Muzzle Diameter of about a Human head we can assume the Bore would be something around 120-180 mm- which is still more than everything I know of todays weapons.
