Orca Build
Trying to shift from doing mass economy missions to more classy passengers, any suggestions on changes to do to this?

Looks ok, but do you really need the fuel scoop? Are you still going to do the one way trips? Or are you talking about sightseeing missions?

Urk, hold on. D rated modules? What is wrong with you man? Get A rated thrusters at least! You need to be able to run.

And get an A rated powerplant. If you don't need the power, just go down a size, but A rated have much better heat efficiency than D rated, which is good for when scooping.

And the 1 size down A-rated power plant still gives a bit more power and is a bit lighter, than the next size up D-rated!

Yup. A rate the power plant and thrusters, if you're feeling brave ditch the shield for an economy cabin (properly fitted the Orca's good for silent running: fast and cold).

Much appreciated will make some changes, was trying to keep the jump range decent for the longer missions but it seems like criminals pay better

And to answer the one way trip questions, mostly just want the highest pay for the shortest jumps (less than 500 ly)

Criminals do pay better, but you need to get good at speed docking to ensure you don't get scanned. Things can get hairy if you do.

The speed docking can also spare you from using not always reliable methods like silent running, heatsinks, or chaff. The good part is that the Orca fits nicely into mailslots. Just some practice and you can do it at over 200m/s. And at that speed they wouldn't be able to finish their scan even if they managed to start it.

I'd be interested to know if proper chaffing makes a difference. It's pointless spewing 17litres of chaff behind you, when sec ships are above and below your plane, after all. I think we need to pull off a controlled roll and hide in a ball of chaff :D:

Edit: Did research, it's all lies. Chaff only works on players KWS and you certainly don't have to fly around chaff bubbles like I've been doing. FML D:

Pretty sure heatsinks and silent running do work (mainly because the station remarks on losing radar lock) but the NPC ships either; are way to close, so it makes no difference or have decent scanners in the first place.

As you stated though, boost out of range is THE surefire way to success.

Just this.
I've started my first Beluga trip outdoors, and the flaws I am having are going to be corrected by his advice to someone else long ago (googled it and found his words)

To be more specific:
Beluga's heat issues are easily avoided with Efficient Power Plant and Clean Driving.
Yes, the ship is indeed big and she captures more heat than others.
