Permit/Ranking System Broken??
Now apperently unlocking permits has to due with rank but 1 big problem. that doesnt seem to be the case...i have 1 permit which is for Achenar (empire) which the prob is, is that its empire which im NOT allied with ( 0%rep-0%rank) but my fed is cordial (25%rep-80%rank) so how do i have a permit for an empires place when im no where near allied with them, nor have i done any missions for them. This make me assume that the ranking/Permit system is broken??

There's an Engineer in Achenar? O.o I've been there a thousand times and never noticed..

You are confusing rank with reputation.

Reputation is your current standing with factions. Your rank is your naval designation.

You got access to Achenar because you gained the appropriate naval rank, you can do that and still have 0% rep with them later on.

No im not confused, as i stated my Empite Rep AND Rank are 0% only thing i ever increased was the REP and RANK of FED.. only time i was in empire space was a few yrs ago met up with a friend there, killed some empire police cause they tried to attack me n then me and friend headed back to FED space.

REAL ANSWER TO QUESTION:

It could be a glitch in the permit list, or it could be a glitch with the actual permit. Go try to actually enter Achenar. If you can not, then you're "safe" from the glitch's effects.
May try this and see if i can actually enter

speaking of permit systems....FD made a change to prevent systems getting locked - when a faction that gives permits for a system loses control of their own system and isn't present anywhere else, a megaship will be deployed nearby owned by the faction that gives permits for the system - that megaship can't be taken over so the permit will always be available.

Yeah but you gave Fed players a great excuse to bash Empire players.

BTW I have no idea why this happened..... But it is a good excuse to bash the Empire. LOL

Empire eats babies and murders you in your sleep OMG!

Why am I bashing the Empire? I don't know..... force of habit I guess.... I am currently ranking up in the Empire so I can get one of those pretty Cutters.

But they eat babies..... YEAH!

Funny thing u guys can argue all you want but to me and to All of you, we know we are No Factions when we scan each other.

Go on, have your bashing war of supporting whom or what cuz the empire nor the fed nor the alliance give a sh** anyway.

AHAHAHAHA

Actually, no, you can't.

You get the Achenar permit at imperial naval rank 4 (squire) which means that by then you've done a whole lot of missions with imperial allied minor factions, more than enough to achieve 100% allied rep status. Remember, missions that increase your rank also increase your superpower reputation. And while yes, superpower reputation goes down gradually once you stop doing missions for them, you forget a major detail: once it reaches 75%, it will never go down below that level again, no matter how much time passes.

So, it is indeed not possible to have nav rank 4 (Achenar permit) and 0% reputation. What OP descibes is a glitch. It cannot happen normally.
