Shield booster engineering.

I cant decide which one is better. The heavy duty one or resistance augmented. Doesnt both technicaly do the same? I mean beeing resistant to all kinds of fires or just making the booster much stronger.

Usually i go 50:50 in my ships with the Corvette having 3 of each and maxed resistancies

On paper the heavy duty looks better. But is it really? 36% stronger booster or beeing 3%. resistane to all fires. Only taking grade 1 for comparison.

Uh well... grade 1 usually has the least benefit or some downside.

Thing is the more boosters you have of the same kind, the less benefit they give.

I think up to 3 boosters of one kind are totally ok, but the 4th one will give less benefit than the others.

So for 4+ boosters it's good to take different ones.

Thermal resistant until they cap out then augment the strength.

It does'nt matter how strong your shields are if you are weak in thermal resistance you'll be the hot butter not the knife.

Interessting. I have 5 shield booster other 3 are heatsinks which is necessary for my SCB. I think 3 Heavy dutys and 2 resistance augmented is a good mix. Thanks for the help.

Thermal resistant shields and augmented boosters is what I use (I'm only using 2 boosters). Generally you wanna bring all resitances to a nice balanced level

Ya i think AIs use more thermic than kinetic. I think 2heavy dutys 2 augmented and 1 thermic would do good.

at some point FD was looking at nefring booster stacking for shield strength so I re-engineered my boosters for resistance. never went back.
