Where is a good mining spot
Hi.
I am looking to do some mining, but haven't found a good spot. Does anyone know one near Eravate?

Find a sparsely populated system with ringed planets, then dive into an empty area of one of the rings, making sure there are no Resource Extraction Sites nearby your drop point.
(extraction sites tend to attract a lot of pirates)

According to this: http://edtools.ddns.net/?s=Eravate

There are a few decent locations within a 60-ish LY radius.

Look for systems that have gas giants with rings. You can use a discovery scanner and surface scanner in those systems to find out what have.

Don't rob yourself of the 'finding out' phase by going to some website 'unless' you are not a new player and don't want to be bothered with it.

I miss the days when we had to find stuff out for ourselves. Seems games were more fun then. Probably b/c we didn't cheat ourselves out of the content.

One of the best I've found is in the Bhotho system, in the metallic ring of planet Bhotho AB 3(The inner ring). Try to avoid Resource extraction sites and just drop in at a random point with no RES near you (If you fly ~30 kilometres from where you started, you will almost never find any more npc's), try to mine in the direction of the planet itself, so you don't mine astroids you already have mined. The reason that this is a good system is because it has a pristine metallic ring, which contain a good amount of the highest selling resources like Platinum, Palladium and Painite. I believe Cleve Hub in Eravate buys these materials for a lot, so you should consider selling them there( Any station will do as long as they are willing to give ~70,000 credits per ton of painite). I believe the trip to the system is ~30 LY so it's not too far. I hope this helps and good luck commander o7

You can go to EDDB and click on "Bodies" tab, there you can choose every thing you'd want. Aim for Pristine Rings around planets, you'll earn the most from them. Don't go to Resource Extraction Sites, just drop out in some random place in the ring.

EDIT: Pristine Rings in the game are called "Metallic"

You get more in resource extraction sites or near them. There are 'sweet spots' in there where you can mine without being killed and do quite well.

A pristine ring =/= a metallic ring. Metallic ring indicates what types of minerals and ores you can find, and the pristine means there is still a lot of the good ores(For example Painite) left
