where to find heat dispersion plates?
Finally started engineering but many of these materials are unknown to me.
I have only heard of blowing up transports to get these but...is that necessary? I have been a cargo / passenger ship and don't feel like becoming an outlaw just for a few common ship parts.
any tips are great

USS diving and mission rewards. You can also kill transport ships for it but do it in an anarchy system so you don't get a bounty.

just go to lawless` systems, anarchy! and find signal sorces.. you tend to find what you need!

Anarchy systems suffering a famine, with distribution centers available (close to the main star or planets)
There are plenty of T9s in those distribution centers, just bring a ship powerful enough / agile enough to destroy them and collect your fill of dispersion plates. They also leave chemical processors, chemical manipulators, chemical distillery, conductive stuff, mechanical stuff, etc.
So if you are looking for engineer materials, this is a nice way of getting them.
