Chained Missions

A bit of advice please:

I did a 'kill so and so' mission last night. Then went back to the station to collect the reward and saw there was a 'chain' icon and 'kill another so and so' mission linked to it, but my combat ranking was too low to accept it. So I went off and upped my rank and then thought I'd pick up this next mission in the chain.

However, I can't remember where it was. How do I find that out in my HUD, or the game please? The mission log (left hand cockpit panel) lists no missions, no mention of a next one in a series anywhere I can see.

If you don't remember where it was, then i'm afraid you are out of luck. Also not sure what level of persistence those chained missions have. Do they remain on the board longer than regular missions?

I think the missions might have some persistence, but I'm not sure how long. I've done multiple mining runs to the same station and seen up to 3 chained missions on the mission board result.
Next time you see a chained mission, bookmark the station and see if it stays on the mission board after you leave the sytem and come back.

Your ranking does not prevent you from picking up a mission, it's just a rough hint at difficulty. The only thing that would do that would be missing cargo space for commodity rewards.

I now suspect I could not get the mission due to cargo space, good point.

Would be good if the developers did articulate you're in a chained mission, and where to get the next step, I think one is liable to forget, what with there being 4bn systems! I also don't think it said it was chained at the start, else I would have booked-marked the system.
