Use the arrows on the keyboard. If you can't then I suggest remapping a few keys to navigate the Galaxy map. You should only need 6, Up, down. strafe and zoom in and out. Good luck

Sounds like you've got a wonkey/broken button on your Saitek. That's literally never, ever happened before - I'm utterly shocked speechless.

what a brilliant reply, totally helpful, and no every button works fine for everything else

Try adjusting your throttle. Sounds like it's assigned Zoom to that axis, that or there genuinely is something screwy.

Clearly your joystick isn't working fine for everything else, otherwise you wouldn't have a problem with it. Don't loaf around, Bread. Test the controller in properties it may be more serious than you think.

I had exactly the same problem with a Saitek x56. All I had to do was adjust the "F" dial on the top of the throttle (which I had inadvertently moved away from it's center detent).

On the plus side, now that I know that wheel is linked to the Zoom action I actually find it quite useful and now use it intentionally ;)

I have the x56 hotas aswell and am loving it. And yes it is your dial on top of your throttle that is not set to neutral. Fly safe CMDR

Check your bindings. You have something assigned that is causing this.
Thank you so much for the answer, that resolve my problem! So happy!!
