Lets start with the first fact, forget turreted guns, just do. DONT EVEN think about putting turrets on a corvette, she will cry.
And be prepared to splurge on Reactive Armour Bulkheads and the like.
So, for a base loadout, (ill link a basic Coriolis to assist towards the end) you are going to want to buy A rated Core internal EVERYTHING. the corvette can handle it, don't worry, with all the weight on board her, she's still fast and light as a feather.
(Don't let the initial low stat values fool you, if you can bulid ships, and have a semblance of situational awareness, you'll mop the floor with everything. Just be mindful of wingmates who love to boost into you and whine about it-especaiily if they are money stingey.)
You are also going to be looking at a 40 million rebuy when fully fitted, due to buying all the parts at LYR stations, so the ship wiil be worth less due to the discounted moduled parts.
For guns, on your huge mounts, i suggest 3 basic set ups, depending on your style and preference:
2 Huge Gimball Multicannons (1 G5 High Cap with Corrossion, and 1 G5 Efficient, with no effect.)
Or 1 Huge Gimball Multi (G5 High cap and corrossion again.) and 1 Huge Fixed Cannon with G5 Long Range/ Sturdy Mount/ pick your poison depending on your main engagment range. with high yield shell.
OR, 2 Fixed Huge Cannons with G5 Long Range, High Yield. (pair them nicely with complementary guns.)
These are all meant to assist your hull smashing, thats what your huge mounts do, smash hull in 1 shot or a few.
Nothing, and i repeat nothing can withstand a volley against their armour with just these 3 following set-ups.
Now as for Large mounts, there is only 1 option, a Large class of Plasma Accelerator. Ive had huge succes pairing a normal class 3 Accel with G5 efficient and phasing, as well as a Class Advanced Accel with Target lock and Also G5, its a home wrecker.
as for your small mounts, i suggest 2 class of small gimball lasers. I run a fixed and burst G5 efficient pair up, the burst with kinetic impact, and the pulse with no side effect. just raw rapid damage per shot, its the sustain your after.
i personally have to babysit half the wingmates i used to fly with in my corvette, cuz they couldnt build shields or armour, so i ran a medium beam with regenerative G5 efficient, but solo, i run 2 Medium Rail guns, or a Rail gun and packhound mount, the rail with Long range and cascade, and the packhound with sturdy mount and drag munitions.
Not only do you cause massive heat overload to CMDRs who fight you, with this set-up, you also stop any Shield cells at 8 kilometers away, which makes FDLs who think they can run, (hah time to laugh at that.) dead in the water.
for optional internals, class 7 bi weave, class 7A SCB with rapid fire, or G2 Specialized (for the extra jules offered as a secondary.) and a class 7 hangar with a Fixed Beam taipan (Gelid-F) and a Fixed Condor with Multi (Rogue F)
You essentially get 2 extra class 4 hardpoints of their respective class, and taipans can take PA shots to the face and laugh, unlike Gu97s who crumple if they are sneezed at.
Extra DPS from the fixed beams doest hurt.
your class 3 is a AFM 3A module, cuz infinite armour sustain. with a AFM unit.
and one of your extra class 6s, is a 4A interdictor with enhanced capure arc.
all the rest of the optionals are class D HRPs, and your military is 1 HRP and 1 MRP.
tanky as all frig!
now as for utiliity, i run 2 options depending on my circumstances, if consigned to res hunting, i run a B class kill warrant with enhanced range. cuz why not?
If PvP, class B wake scanner with, more range, you guessed it!
2 Point Defense with light weight, 1 Heat sink with extra ammo, and 4 Shield boosters with G5 augmented resist. (only 4, you only need 4 to pass 1000 jules with a bi weave stock, and with G5 selene armour, you easiliy pass 4000 total hull. EASY!
as for other internal modding, you wont need a heavily engineered overcharged powerplant, i run a G5 armoured, which is colder, gave me 39.98 wattes, and i draw 40.01 deployed-so i just powerpriorty that interdictor and cargo hatch, and scoff at cutters who need G5 powerplants.
as for thrusters, ive been making due with G3 dirty atm, i rolled enough to keep the thermal load comparable to stock A rated, but with a nice speed increase, i total 398 on impulse and 402 on boost, and cuz i put more pips to engines, (standard pip set up, is 1.5, 3, 2.5 (sys/eng/wep) i just dance around everything. and can boost forever, and never EVER worry about putting too many pips to guns, and putting pips to sys, only if my shields break (when they start recharging-(only to ensure i dont run out of sys distributor with the bi weave draw.)
Stock bi weave rechard is a little over a minute (when you look at coriolis) from broken-mine is closer to 39 seconds, i regen faster than my battle conda friend's bi weaves, who have less total jules.
and shots to my armour, tickle me, i can take PAs and rails to the face and scoff, losing a max of 1% hull when focus bursted before my shields are online again.
having 50% (+) resist on armour (for all) and on shields, is stupidly nice.
while you do not need FA-off as strongly as a dropship or gunship may, i still fly mine with FA-off, cuz i can.
had some complainers, boost into my kilometer long self, in the last bounty CG-needless to say there salt got them nowhere.
the most powerful weapon the corvette has in its arsenal, is actually itself. Its slim when faced from the front, and can turn on a dime, when put next to a conda, it pust it to shame, and when a cutter needs to focus its distributor on 4 pips to sys and 2 to guns, the corvette is still faster.
There is no need to shield tank the corvette cuz its just too good for combat, literally is EASY MODE. (i play Mode: EASY from the No Game No Life OST when flying in it. cuz its a big dropship/ gunship-if you flew a gunship, youll feel at home in a vette.
as for shield tanking, im sure if i ever was resurrected in a new body as a new self, i may have gone that route, but i doubt it, you dont need it, and shield tanking it is overkill to the extreme, especially if you armour it up, like you should.
For my G5 FSD, i get a kinda sad, 17 even, but, its not a exploratory ship, and still beats vultures and FDLS for travel, cuz huge internals, lots of em, and very modular, so for travel i fit a class 6C scoop, and just laugh.
did i mention tons of internal space? and class 8A distributor? this thing can be a miner and cargo hauler too, its stupidly good at it, actually, just people seem to think a ships worth is tied to its LY. and the shipyard maneuvre bar.
but, for PvP and PVE the following hints and or direction, will have you mopping the floor, for multicrew its nice to, can confirm have had some new guys get there first easy million just crewing with me.

it is a little on the expensive side, but trust me, shes pays for herself, a million times over.
i had over a billion banked when i bought her, and any CMDR who has not been spamming donations, and playing the game without that whole grind/ board flipping/ ruin BGS mindset, will have enough money to fully A rate it one go and have enough money for gobs of rebuys.

cutters are like cobras, the boost is the only good thing they have going for them in combat, but power to engines in a small distributor for boost, means less in shields, or less in their piddly turreted guns-they are basically there to soak up shots in fights.
or by T-9
