ah, the Colonial Snipe?
Or: https://eddb.io/trade/single
And remember keep open "Market Connector" tool to update database.
I think it's good enough. Anyway, try rare trade.
No, no. The Colonial Imperial Wives route.
It's lonely out there so far from the bubble, I'm sure they'd pay top credits for whatever slaves you bring them.
If you are simply bulk trading there are hundreds of single jump <150ls station looped runs ranging from 3,500cred/tonne to 5,000cred/tonne depending on your landing pad size limitations.
If your running bulk trading loops I always aim for roughly 5 runs/loops an hour to complete my loop, roughly 12 mins a run. on a decent 4,000cred/tonne loop you should net circa 6,000,000 Credits an hour.
So if your current trade route is indeed 1 jump and is fairly close with regards to LS away then from my experience that is going rate for bulk imperial slaves, you could always squeeze more out of coruse, but this depends on your own goals.
That time spent looking for min/max trade loops could be spent actually trading.
However, there are about half a dozen goods that can turn a good profit regardless, even more so with the right states. The most well known are things like Imperial Slaves and Progenitor Cells. Its possible to get over to 3000/t on some of those under the right conditions, although rare to get over 4000 and usually its hard to get a return route that turns the same profit.
If you are willing to do planet stuff, taking landmines from an industrial (i think) in boom (i think) to an extraction planetary base and taking from there back to the start minerals that can only be purchased on planetary stations (eg: Thorium i think) can also turn a good profit.
Another option is to trade Weapons into a system in civil war or war (often illegal) and instead of going to a station, look for zero threat signal sources with T9s in them (think they are identified as Trading Beacons) which are wanting weapons. Park up near one of those and they will take the weapons off you.
To make a loop of such high paying opportunities can be tricky. The guy who taught me all this (because i don't trade much, just passing the info on) usually accepts high profit one way and just average profit the other way.
However, if you can find a matching pair of systems it can be highly profitable.
For example, an Agricultural system in Outbreak needs medicines (or Medical diagnostic equipment) and sells food cheap. If you can then find a close by High-Tech system selling medical stuff cheap that is in Famine, they will buy the food at high prices, then you take the medical stuff back to the other system.
That sort of thing is rare though, i spent 30 mins last night staring at the galaxy map trying to find such a combination and no pair closer than several jumps apart, and by the time you jump so much you could make more profit trading less profitable stuff.
You could also try to find similar with the signal sources version, but signal sources are random and can take time to find, and they might not always want what you are carrying. With signal sources its best to just do regular trade runs and if you see a trade beacon as you are travelling, then drop into it and see if they will take what you have. They will always pay maximum price per ton.
Your cavalier attitude toward profiting off human misery greatly distresses me. We Federation loyalist do not take such talk lightly. You should consider the following, slavers die, it's the law. Reform your attitude and avoid unnecessary ship destruction.

EDDB (Elite Dangerous Data Base) https://eddb.io will give you the best prices on trade routes. It will also generate trade routes for you. You can assist the process by running the EDMC (Elite Dangerous Market Connector) which updates the EDDB trade information in real time every time you dock at a station. It also will populate popular shipyard programs with your current ship build, including engineering details, as well as letting you jump to information on your present system.
Worry not. Space Khaleesi will take care of the slave trade!
Please ignore the hundreds of millions I made slave smuggling from Robigo, tho.
Is the only way to trade commodities "properly" is through looking at all the best trade routes online? Doing that feels cheap and ruins the experience imo. Unless theres pretty much a " go to" area for commodity trading? Such as Robigo slaves, but being a scrub when it comes to commodities i wouldn't have a clue where to sell/smuggle them.
It's about grinding. People earn 10+ mil/hour trading by either doing rare trades, or finding a profitable one-or-two-jump trade route, and then busting out about ten to fifteen loops per hour.
Trading is grinding, going from A-to-B, docking, selling, buying, repeat. Over and over and over again. If you don't have that kind of patience to spend an hour or so looking for a good route, then several hours grinding it out, with 500+ tons of cargo capacity, then there are much faster, funner ways to make the monies!
Even doing the Rare trade loop is more fun!
