What are you going to name your ship?

With 2.3 we can officially name our ships, beggeth the question what are you going to call yours?

Those are the only names I can think of currently. Naming things has never been my strong suit.

A good question, I have 'class' type names for my builds at the moment. For example; Hornet for my Imperial Eagle, Lancer for my Courier, Hunter for the Clipper ect.

Naming stuff is hard. Trying to capture the essence of the ship and it's build and putting a name to it.

Imperial Eagle - ?
Courier - ?
FDL - ?
Clipper - ?
Cutter - ?
Beluga - ?
Dolphin - ? (Because I am getting one, no question)
Might do a homage to Kill Bill and name my Orca '♥♥♥♥♥ Wagon' for a cheap laugh.

Tis something that definitely warrants thinking about.

Yeah, good advice for sure. I won't force names, but I do think a ghost/spectre theme befits the imperial ships in this game. Almost like a banshee with their engines.

I'm going to name my Anaconda the "ILC Defiant". ILC stands for "Independent Light Cruiser".
When I get my Cutter which is pretty soon, im going to name it "IWS Gladiator". IWS stands for Imperial War Ship.
When I eventually get the Corvette, I'm going to name it the "FWS Starfall". FWS stands for "Federal War Ship".
And finally, I will name my DBE the "Excursionist"

FNS would be lore-correct. Federal navy ships follow British naming traditions and are named FNS. For example "FNS Thunderer" and "FNS Repulse" - two Farraguts I've fought beside, both named after British Navy battleships.

Ahh, thanks. I'll edit and change that. What about IWS for the Cutter? Would it be INS? Sorry, I don't know too much about the lore sadly.
