Your soundtrack to Elite

I know most Elite players run a custom soundtrack for the game, and who can blame them. But what do you listen to, and why?

Speaking for myself I prefer the classics, a mixture of good soundtrack music from other games and orchestral classics from history. There's a piece for every mood, every aspect of the game.

I have a thing for remixed video game soundtracks from the past, and I have a nice big list that plays while I fly around. I tend to play with space country (lost planet 3 and rebel galaxy OST, for example) and bands like Cake and Black Keys and stuff like that, which is pretty much the same I have on my phone to listen to. It's the full space trucking experience for me.

I should give Elite's ingame music a listen someday. 1500 hours ingame, not a single one of them with the "music" slider any higher than 0.

I play chillstep mixes with female vocals, and I'm not generally a guy who is into a electronic/pop music. Something about the aesthetic of that music is calming and futuristic, nice for a game of this pace.

Im a classical guy myself, (with the added soundtrack here and there). A few of my favourites would be: Apotheosis (journey OST), The cinematic orchistra - Arrival of the birds, and Chopin's Nocturne (op.9 no. 2).
