Finding V-Rare Materials

I enjoy playing ED I really do, but I also enjoy progress and experiencing a lack of it does nothing but make me extremely frustrated.

Currently trying to find tellurium for my power plant 5 upgrade. Can't find it and I have driven around various planets for about 15 hours now. I have found a grand total of 0

I can only assume I'm doing something wrong, looking in the wrong places on a planet, I have tried craters, rims of craters, POI's flat plains, mountains and I simply can't find any.

I can find skimmer sites fine, and all the basic materials with no issues using the scanner. I simply can't find metallic meteorites that contain the V-rare i need for the engineer.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you looking in the system map after a detailed surface scan of the planets your prospecting to see if there's any tellurium% on the planet? If the planet has some, you should check Metallic Meteorites, and Mesosiderites.

Go to metallic worlds, search for metallic meteorites. Grind for hours, bang head in frustration, Rage quit. got to forums and complain
You could also try mining asteroids.

I've seen as high as 2.5% but don't remember where. I think it was out of the bubble. 1.5% should give you something eventually.

A1 has Arsenic, Mercury, Tin
A2 has Tellurium, Arsenic, Tungsten.
A3 has more metals but I didn't note them down.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll give these places a go, will let you know if i find anything, if anyone has anything concrete would be much appreciated.

Personally I could find any very rare material for all of my grade 5 upgrade even if the planet details said its around 1.5%. I don't think its hard if you prospect on the right planet.

I hope you will find it closer, but if you are completely out of luck - join the Silly Ships Expedition - the destination planet is full of Tellurium. I see 4-5 pieces in every meteorite here. The problem is that it's ~2000Ly away from the Bubble...

Well after reading this forum post and using a few of its tips and tricks, i have now found 4 in the last 20 mins.
