Capitol ship cost
How much does a farragut and majestic class interdictor cost in game? I would imagine hundreds of trillions...

Nope
One billion with a Admiral rank requirement would definitely be cool and i believe that the better game which is Star Citizen is going to allow players to control big ass ships like these so i dont see why ED would want to fall behind in that aspect

My guess is around fifty billion. A Nimitz class Aircraft Carrier costs around 7 billion to make, scale that up and account for all the expensive bits needed to make it fly in space and I reckon you're looking at mid-tens billion.

SC isn't letting people fly 2km long ships.

not sure how much one weighs, but an anaconda is roughly just under half the length.

also, a quick search puts the cost of a nimitz at around 4.5 billion.

that said, i wouldn't be surprised if your mid tens billion was spot on for buying and kitting out a capital ship.

well a Cutter is 1 billion to A rate one out so a capital ship should be more then 10 and less then 100 billion each. and a Nimitz was 4.5 billion in 1970s money thats more then 10 billion in todays money. if you look at Star Wars it made 450 million in 1977 thats more then Avatar made with 2 billion 2009. when you ajust for inflation.

there are. and they aren't NEARLY as big as the capital ships in elite. the capital ships in SC are around the size (maybe a tad bit bigger) of the larger ships in elite.

the nimitz was 1 billion in 1975 dollars lol. i know i'm just a dumb college dropout, but i DID think to check for inflation and stuff.

EDIT: more light research because you got me curious: USS Gerald R Ford (lead of her class) is estimated to cost around 12 billion. once again, if elite does have us fly capital ships, your numbers are pretty spot on.

1. Sc isn't better
2. You wont know it till 2020 x)
3. Ed isn't Sc and I don't see why one should try to compare itself to another

The PS4 trailer had the turrets of a farragut showing as player icons. FD have always said you won't be able to fly them but with Multicrew manning a turret would make more design sense perhaps in a cz or some special type of scenario it might be possible. As for the cost of a gargantuan ship, presumably into the high range of hundreds of billions, even though we will never be able to buy one.
