I honestly no longer explore with HSLs, just put the throttle down after each jump, and you won't fly into a star.
More Heat sinks :)
I usually take at least 2
Maybe practice for a bit before going right into the black?
I'd personally bring along the smallest sized shields at grade D. If you want to ride your SRV on distant planets, it makes landing safer. Gives me a peace of mind when heading back to the bubble too, in case I get interdicted (never happened yet, but it could).
Just turn them off when you're bouncing from system to system away from the bubble.
Im using this Build right now: https://coriolis.edcd.io/outfit/asp?code=A0p0tdFfliddsnf5------0202--3c0s432i0i2fv6.AwRj4jRZtYg%3D.Aw18WQ%3D%3D..EweloBhBmSQUwIYHMA28QgIwV0A%3D
*w/o the 2 Heat Sink Launcher
small d rated shield should be enough. just watch the high G planets.
That's exactly what my AspX loadout was (except no heat sinks) pre 2.3. :) Now I switched to the DBX though because of it's higher jump range.
