Target Lock
When I am closing in to a station or hub, i am loggin that as target. Sometimes I tag other ships while approaching the station. When I want to change back to the station, i have to go to the Nav tab and re-select the station i want to fly to. I dont like this that much. Is there a possibility to change back to the station without opening the nav tab? I am usually too far away from the target to lock it. If i am close to the station, it is not a problem because i can see it.

Yep, there is an option to bind a key for 'previous target' in game settings. Not sure if there is already a default key

I am using this key, the ship only changes between ships in range, no stations :(

Ok sorry i just checked my key binds, the option u are looking for is 'Target next system in route' in targeting options. Give it a key bind. That should do the job, unless the devs have done something to it..

I use the 'target next hostile' bind as a fudge to cancel the targetting. If it cannot find a hostile it will notify you and then revert to your destination lock.

It worked for me, as long as i had the station previously selected as destination, and stayed in Supercruise. I'll check it out when i get back to my pc.

I hope some bright spark in FD has not broken it...

Use the head look function, turn your head until the target is central & press 'T' or repeatedly press 'G' until you cycle through to the station.

It's only helpful if you are close enough to actually see the station and to be able to separate it from other objects around (last light seconds). When you are half-way there in a supercruise, you can't head-target the station - you will target a star or at best - a planet where the station orbits.

I wish they remembered the last chosen station and let me target it without extra hoop-jumping. It's my travel destination, after all - the most important target of the journey.

ok so i just checked it out to make sure i wasn't going nuts...

If u have a station etc selected as target/destination and you only CYCLE (g) through other contacts, you can still press 'Target next system in route' binding and it will display that station you originally selected.

However if u have a station etc selected as destination and you then SELECT TARGET (t) another ship in front of you then pressing key for 'Target next system in route' will do nothing as u have overridden ur original target.

I hope this makes sense! :)

Thank you! That was exactly what I experienced. By cycling through the targets, you loose your original target.
