Buying and selling slaves - worth it?
Dear Community,

a quick question: I am dreaming of becoming a smuggler. But not a smuggler doing these illegal missions or checking out USS. Instead I was asking myself whether it would pay off to buy e.g. slaves at a system that allows it and to then sell it at a black market in a different system. I have heard that normal commodities only get you half the price at black market, does this also count for slaves?
Thanks a lot!

Slave trading is profitable in empire space. I forgot which powerplay faction it is, but you can make at least 10% profit per run with imperial slaves
Use this to find the best places to buy and sell.

Yeah, it's quite profitable in Fed Space as well. ;)

OP: there are Rare Goods which are illegal also (Onionhead and Leestian Evil Juice to name two examples), which will net huge profits, but you must transport them 150 + LY from point of purchase to yield maximum profits. Also, potential fines on illegal Rares are massive, running well into the hundreds of thousands, depending on your load. Happy smuggling!

It depends,
If the slaves you are selling to the station, are legal, than it is profitable,
IF they are illegal, it actually isnt, in the long run.
You'll end up lowering the controlling faction's influence, and you will not gain repuation if they are sold illegally.

so, in the shorthand, yes and no.
Denton Patreus, and Arrissa Lavigny have a lot of space, where slave trading is legal,
most federation space, has it outlawed, and the same goes for independants, asides from archon delaine.
Im pretty sure, a lot of Edmund mahon allows slave trading as well...

But if it can be sold at a black market...its bad, if it can be sold legally, it is good.
Legal trading, will also provide reputation with that controlling faction, allowing you to pick up missions, that will benefit loop runs, while doing your trading.

Good Luck CMDR, you sound like a competent trader! i wish you the best!

So does this mean I buy and sell both in Imperial space? That sounds sort of lame tbh...

How is this meant exactly? I buy in empire space and sell in federation black market?

Thanks in advance, guys :)

Certainly worth it.

..if your moral compass allows it.
