Normally, from my experience, if the game keeps CTD'ing or needing to be Task Quit, you had a Crash reporter, come up, but, you didnt close and or submit it, so it's still running in the background, making elite, crash, over and over.
Now, if it's an adjudication or connection error, in game, that's a problem with your Ram load and or Interwebs...
But if the controls and stuff, are getting wonky, and your game is freezing up, that sounds like 1 or 2 things.
A much needed update for your software,
and or
A much needed update for your software, plus a Re-verify for corrupt files.
Either way, i'd check that, and restart your PC while your at it.
I will verify my game files in Steam and re-boot the machine. Hopefully that will do it.
Thanks.
A system restore (as above mentioned) or a Clean driver software update, may both be in order.
Sorry this is happening to you @astro
I did put in a trouble ticket with Frontier......maybe they can sort it out.
Frustrating......nice long weekend......lots of time to play......but.....no.....
I have a relatively new system as well (we both have Ryzen CPUs if I remember correctly)
I've had issues with flickering lately too, but I don't lose controls
I'm suspecting it's something with Windows 10
This sounds like either a busted driver install or hardware failure.
I recalled i had the same thing, about 2 weeks ago, i had to clean install my AMD Re:live software, and the AMD Driver update i had that day.
after doing a few minor tweaks, and a couple pc restarts to apply the update.
All i had to do was set the graphics in game, back to how they usually are.
And re-apply my K&M kebinds.
Easy peasy. Took about 3 hours to get it all sorted, but if your having a similar problem, id guess that to be the cause
Who knows.......I just played for over 45 minutes with no problems. Then it did it again. Checked temps right after and all nice and cool.
If I figure it out for sure I will update.
Thanks to all for the input.
have a happy memorial day weekend, and fly safe CMDR.
Fair Winds.
EDIT: Read your comment, incorrectlly i just realized, redacted, ill keep appraised to see how to continue in further assistnace.
Lol, true
Aside from rail guns on a python in CZs crashing my game, no issues with my Ryzen either
