3rd party multi route planner
Hey fellow CMDRs, I'm looking for an app that let's me type in about 20 or so systems and then it tells me what order to go there in for the fastest travel time.

you really need an app for flying in a straight line?

He probably wants it to plot the best route. Takes some time doing that using only the
Galaxy map.

I doubt someone has gone through the effort of writing an application for this specific to E:D. You might be able to find an application for plotting the shortest route between multiple nodes that was written for another reason, good luck with that though.

What I would do is just go to the next nearest destination to you on your list that you are closer to than you were at your previous destination(You'll need to keep a little spreadsheet of these distances and update it at each destination). That is going to be darn close to the optimal route.

I just use the coordinate system to figure out which cells I should be aiming for every 1000 Ly. It's pretty simple math so I've never bothered to code it up...

That is fine to get to each destination beyond 1000ly, but from how I undestand OP has 20 target systems he wants to visit, not only one.

Still, it's pretty inconvenient that you have to replot your route every 1000ly, especially if you have a large jump range then that just becomes a hassle.

Its a list of systems that have terraformables and i was wanting to go to them in an efficient order. As quick a possible.

OP is basically asking for a program that makes his passenger/delivery/data missions easy, it's two separate issues.

See if you can find what you need from this: http://edcodex.info/?m=tools&cat=2

The in-game plotter needs some TLC. It is better but needs more. Apply filter to route is probably the best thing they added. Now plotting a manual course would be nice. Not helpful near the bubble but way out where there are barely any stars its almost required. Just b/c the plotter can't find a route doesn't mean there isn't one.
