How long would it take?
I was thinking about doing the bounty hunting cg so I picked it up. I popped open the ol galaxy map and its 20,000 light years away.I can currenty jump 42 light years...How long am I looking for travel best guess?

Finding that out only knowing your jump range seems tricky. What I'd do is plot a maximum range route (which is 1000Ly) and measure the time that takes you. Multiply that by 20 and you should have a pretty good estimate. Or if you can find out how many jumps are usually in a 1000Ly year route and how long one jump usually takes you can skip the whole fly through the 1000Ly route step, but your estimate probably would be somewhat rougher.

Well, calculate how long does a jump take you, then throw the witchspace time (~30 sec) and ad d time for fuel scooping.
If I assume you never go out of fuel (and don't need a scoop), the supercruise takes 45 seconds, and the stars are in straight line, I get approx. 3571 seconds, or 59,5 minutes.

(Not sure on that)

It'll be easier if you plot a route and tell us how many jumps does it take to clear 1000 Ly's.

First off thank you for the quick reply. It takes me 26 jumps to go 1,000 light years.

Thank you. I need I also need to figure out how over charging works and if that's even viable considering I don't know how common neatron stars are or how one goes about
plotting a rout with them in mind.

Well you can go about 1k ly in about 1h, maybe you can squezze out like 1,5k or even 2k ly without scanning, just looping around the star for the next destination.

So, in worst case 20h or only 10h.
Mallradical May 18, 2017 @ 10:32am
Well, we have:
26X20=520 - total jumps
If each jump takes 75 secs (45 SC and 30 witchspace):
520X75=39000 secs - total time
39000 secs are 650 mins are 10,8 hours.
Correct me if I am wrong.

overcharging and if that's even viable
You risk blowing your FSD there.

Well that's not going to happen I think it would a good ideas to sit this cg out for my sanity's sake...

I think just do regular bounty hunting.

A 'Conda can yield you 100000-200000 Cr's

Buckyballing you can do 2000 LY/hour then if you get your rhythm down and scoop as you go, and don't stop to scan.

So, 10 hours-ish.

Thanks guys, I'm glad I asked instead of just heading over there.

my first travel to colonia took me a week had 30ly range an a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fuelscoope, bought a better fuelscoop in colonia and the way back tookl me 2 days. i would say 1000ly = 30-40 minutes depands on youre setup and time you have per day to play.

I have created a simple calculator that uses...
FSD chargetime + JUMPtime + FUELscope = 60sec.
(Approximate scope at every star (jump) for 30 sec)

Using that with 42 jumprange and 20.000 LY gives you:
Jumps: 477
Time Enroute: 14h 57min
