Magnetic Mountains suck
Please get rid of them, they seem to be on EVERY map and render the compass pointless (literally).

Dynamite...I assume. Haven't actually tried it, but it's logical.

I think there should be a perk that makes your compass "ignore" Magnetic Mountains. Maybe the cartographer or geography perks could point to a lot of experience with reading maps and compasses, and that experience let's you know that the compass is wrong (because you double check with landmarks and the sun and everything). At least, the compass should say "I'm useless right now!" rather than sending you to a magnetic mountain.

i dont agree, depends on how you approach the map. there are different ways to find the golden temple, and with compass/position and maybe, wen in need, blowing up magnetic mountains.

There is dynamite and.....other....ways around magnetic mountains.

The problem I have with dynamite is that it's impractical to carry. I have at minimum 5 slots taken up in expedition 6 (torches, rope, climbing gear for traversing caves, mind items like chocolate, alcohol, or cooked meat, and the fifth slot is moonstones.) One might suggest to pick up a pack animal, but then your combat is generally screwed.

In my experience, you're better off securing a victory through wandering with a team that can handle fights than having extra room to blow up a mountain you may never see.

I have to say that the magnetic mountains are a well-thought out and believable obstacle. They are a challenge and there are plenty of ways to find the temple despite them. Obviously blowing them up with Dynamite is one, but there's also Crystal Balls to locate the Temple, gazing into Cenote Pools under the moonlight, Dream Vision perk, and Stone Circles. All those are way to just find the Temple's location (even it only shows it as a '?' it'll be the '?' sitting in the middle of a jungle.

The magnetic mountains are a challenge, but not an impossible one. I've beaten the 6th Expedition many times lately and the last two I didn't even look at the compass.

The compass is completely and utterly useless and gets me killed more than it helps me.

Magnetic mountains can be annoying, but I wouldn't say that they're much worse than any other obstacle you'll encounter. As of now, I don't think they're in need of a nerf. I suggest not relying on the compass too much. Instead, zoom out at the start of your journey and get a feel for how the map is laid out. The darker areas are the edge of the map. Plan a route and adjust it as you go.

OK, I guess my opinion was wrong. Please disregard.

Nothing wrong with having an opinion or even 'hating' on the situation that messed up an otherwise perfect-seeming game. We've all been on the high-thousands fame track entering the 5th or 6th expedition and got smashed by a horrible situation and just had to rage.
"Of course he got all three dice with Strong Claw attacks!"
"Of course I summon a Void with the first shrine I loot on the map!"
"Of course I have 4 treasure maps and no shovels!"
