Not at all, but it would be still a good idea for the sake of continueity. Myself, I was stuck oin what appaers to be the very last part of the first gasme due to some bad descison I made when picking sklls and now he can't fighting hbis onw clones so well as he should. Just brought the sequel game and have already started playing it. So, i guess it's not such a big deal, cause I'm so close tomthe ennd of the first game anyway.

I'd recommend not playing any of these games.

I never could understand why you people stuck around on forums of games you dislike. So, I ask you - Why? Why the ♥♥♥♥ are you here? Most people on these forums are here because they like these games. So none of them value your "opinion."

Generally I don't like comments like this... You know the "if you don't like it why are you here" type at least for blatantly bad games or games that have serious issue. In such instances it's warranted that people would warn others off but in these games? They're not bad. No one could say the Styx series is a bad franchise. It's a good stealth game but it is a stealth series and not an action game(No emphasis on combat for one however you can engage in combat).

I, personally, don't understand why someone like Sisko would come to a forum for a pretty decent game and make a blanket statement such as he has. It wasn't for him(Although he doesn't own the game), maybe he wanted an action stealth game... At least have the common sense to know a game is good but not your cup of tea instead of bashing it needlessly.

And as I entered that I checked his post history to see not one minute had passed where our boy Sisko hasn't copied and paste a comment about being "mediocre" despite not owning the game in multiple different threads of which he's necroed such as this thread here(Two months old). Looks like he's got a chip on his shoulder. Oh boy. This'll get fun, seen these trolls a dozen times now... It can prove to be quite entertaining.

IMO Styx one was the best so I'd get it if I were you, if you really like stealth games that is. :) I'm sure it's at a decent price now also. :)

Funny: I looked up "complete unabashed idiot" in the dictionary, and whaddaya know? That was the picture I found there. This guy wouln't know mediocrity if it bit his…head…off.

OP: Depends what you mean by the "first" game. Here are the games in chronological order:
1. Of Orcs and Men
2. Styx: Master of Shadows
3. Styx: Shards of Darkness

Styx first appeared in, "Of Orcs and Men," a game [of a different genre than the present one] released before the two games bearing Styx's name. You might like the first game more than the two that followed—being unfamiliar with your personal proclivities, I could not authoritatively say.

Then again, by "first" game, it's entirely possible you're referring to the second game, "Styx: Master of Shadows," in which case I would STILL not know what you do and do not like.

The only thing I can say is to give my personal opinion, which, if you are your own man, you wouldn't care about: I bought all three games. I liked the last two, Master of Shadows and Shards of Darkness.

So, Shankly—we notice you haven't bought the game, and haven't responded to any advice. So, what—we're just wasting our time here, is that it? Glad we could help!

I agree with Dr.Larry on this.

to answer the OP, I didn't play the earlier game but in the end, despite not being a 'stealth' fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the game.

I'd say just give it a go and see.
