Any chance you can use adb to get the logs from your device? It looks like the app is crashing for some reason.
I'm sorry, but I don't know how to use ADB or get it onto my PC or devices.
Every time I change apps from steam link to something else, I get a frozen black screen in the steam link after I get back to it.
I can probably get the logs with adb, just say the adb commands I need.
I think this is fixed in the next build. I'm also doing Android 12 testing, so I'll push a beta when I'm done.
Did you solved it?
as i've known other remote services from android are all support S-Pen kind major one to rebind as virtual cursor, at least work as two/three button mouse.
(or direct support wireless/wired mouse from android to remote)
hope to see steam link's input work for all the games in steam possible to remote over steam link.
streaming_log.txt :
- Added support for automatic TV game mode selection on Android 11
In fact that is not true at least for Chromecast with Google TV. "Advanced display settings->Allow game mode" is turned on, and I can see how it works when launching Stadia app, when launching display blinks and message "Instant game response is launched" appears, but not for the Steam Link app, on any point it doesn't switch TV display to low latency mode.

i think most of dev and users doesn't recorgnize this issue is,
cause most of actual steam link application for android users are.. when were they bind the key mapping for gamepad once, then they won't be much touch those setting unless it initialization appdata itself or they change to new controller pairing.
if those key mapping was already done and config file in app side are already exist,
this issue won't be happen cause there's already map file exist in app.
(as i've confirmed from old device and old android with controller, it just working even in lastest steam link app version but once you've reset the key bind or appdata itself, then it affect issue right away so you can't never ever keymap setting on steam link app about your gamepad again)
so this issue affect on users that 'new on steam link app' or 'reset data or install app on new device or pairing new controller on device'
but still broken state almost over 4~6 months might be not a sense in QA.
i've test in all the other apps that recorgnize and mapping works well..
so i'm highly doubt on steam link application side, not stock android or lastest samsung stock firmware side, but if you guessing it's problem on samsung side, they're software support from samsung members won't be helpful when contact them from ordinary customer like me.
if issue won't reproduce from your side and guessing it affect on all the 10 billions of recent samsung android devices, please contact samsung from valve side.
2. as i've known, mouse button 1 and 2 can trigger by one point/two point touch just like microsoft RDP for android.
but how to trigger mouse wheel up/down and wheel button(button 3) from steam link for android?
guess just mouse button 1 and 2 is not enough to play most of games in steam trough steam link.
anyone in valve test titles that using mouse control trough steam link?
or at least apply stylus support?
