check usb and paired bt devices
may also be cec, if the tv is turned to the link hdmi input
link menu -> settings -> display -> cec = disabled
when powering down link, it turns off xbone and ds4 controllers and goes to sleep
Exactely same behaviour. Turning to non-Beta build fixed the problem.
I am not seeing this. Is this fixed in build 827?
thanks for explaining how it shows up
from the links main menu, hit a/x on the power button
then you can use dpad or joystick move to any other main menu button
x/a will not shut down link, and circle/b will not close the menu popup
its like focus is not put on the exit popup menu
bug is on build 822 and beta 827
I factory reset and then updated straight to 827... the bug is gone... so I'm not sure if it was specific to 826 or an upgrade error, sorry!
- I have no gamepad connected to the Steam Link, only an RF dongle for wireless mouse/keyboard.
- This started happening yesterday (after the latest update, which I assume was build 827) and is still happening today (I just checked again).
I can bring up the "Do you want to shut down?" dialog using either the keyboard or mouse. At this point, as far as I know there have only ever been three options:- Click "OK" with the mouse, to proceed with the shutdown.
- Click "Cancel" with the mouse, to abort the shutdown.
- Press Return on the keyboard, to proceed with the shutdown.
- Press Esc on the keyboard, to abort the shutdown.
As of yesterday, all four of these actions do the same thing: the shutdown dialog goes away and the Steam Link does not shut down (the behaviour appears to be "cancel", even for the "OK" options). While the dialog is up, hitting the arrow keys on the keyboard moves the selection between target hosts and the submenu selectors. Pressing return at any time simply dismisses the shutdown dialog and then things go back to working as expected.
Another interesting thing I think I observed (not sure 'cause I wasn't looking for it, but I'll confirm this time) is that the Steam Link also doesn't do its normal automatic shutdown after 15 minutes. Since I couldn't shut it down, I just turned off the TV and figured it would shut down on its own after the delay. Usually when I come back to it the next day, I just tap Shift to wake it up, and then it wakes the TV up as well with the HDMI power control. That didn't happen this morning; next time around I'll just turn the TV on first and see if the Steam Link is already on.
Unless there are other suggestions, I'll probably just wait until it irritates me enough and then try courzette's nuclear solution of a factory reset and see if that fixes it for me as well. :) Feel free to let me know if there's anything you want me to poke at beforehand, in the interests of trying to fix the issue before I potentially clobber it.
