Test Steam streaming on Samsung TV!

Samsung is adding Steam Link functionality directly to their latest line of Smart TVs.
If you are in the United States and have a 2016 or 2017 Samsung UHD TV, we'd like to invite you to help test the Steam Link App, now available as a free beta from the Samsung Smart Hub.

The App uses the same streaming technology as Valve's Steam Link, allowing users to play their favorite games, and even spectate VR games on the HTC Vive, wherever they watch TV.

During the beta, playback of 1080p video at 60 FPS and support for the Steam Controller are included. For worldwide release later this summer, support for streaming 4K resolutions and additional controllers will be added.

Note: Streaming to the TV requires a Steam Controller and a high-quality network, at least 5GHz. A wired network is strongly recommended.

This may sound dumb but, Have you tried the App store on the TV?

It says "Remote Steam client requires a PIN code to start streaming; Unsupported feature."

Try disabling the pin code on Steam, settings, streaming

Hello guys, I have a 2016 UHD Samsung Smart TV and I have the steam link app installed, I can see the PC when looking for host but when I click it on the TV it says this : "Remote Steam client requires a PIN code to start streaming: Unsupported feature".
Any ideas ?
I checked my TV for updates and I have the latest updates.

Go on to your Steam Account. Click "Steam". Then Click on "Settings". Then click on "In-Home Streaming". Afterwards, click on "Set Steam Link PIN Code" and then don't enter anything at all. Then click OK.

That's how I got mine working. Did it work for you...?

Still only able to select 1080p 60fps on my Samsung KS8000. the 4k option is grayed out. Hopefully 4k will be available soon. My computer monitor is only 1080p but would like to be able to select 4k on the steam link app.

4K is not enabled on 2016 TV model. We will be enabling it in near future..

Hope you manage xbox one and ps4 controller support.

Because Iove fighting games and the Steam game pad is not good for 2d fighting games, great for everything else though.

Hi, tried the app and it's working really nicely. Just was wondering why the tv remote is disabled during streaming? Is this due to some hardware limitation? Not being able to change the volume during games is a big deal, and if there's any way to enable it there should be an option.

I'm sorry for that. That's a kind of SW limitation in Tizen TV platform. Only when you connected a keyboard to your TV, it will not work. We are trying to give another option.

I have a 2017 Sasmung TV UE65MU7009 as a target resolution i can only set 1080p. But my PC is running on 1440p why cant i go higher?
