"Valve Complete Pack" added to library - "all games, past, present, and future"?
So did anyone else get an email from Valve saying that as a gift for being in the first round of hardware preorders, they have added the Valve Complete Pack to your library? This is nice, but some wording stuck out to me (bold added by me):

We've added the Valve Complete Pack to your Steam account as a gift from Valve. This will give you all of Valve's games (past, present and future) free of charge.

...does this really mean that we will get all future Valve games for free?? Cause unless they never figure out how to count to 3 and never release another game again, this sounds too good to be true.

Edit: I don't see it now but I saw someone on reddit saying that the gift being given to preorders who run OSX is indeed the friends and family pack that includes all of Valve's future releases. This honestly sounds too good to be true, so I still have my doubts.

Also, to anyone complaining that the early pre-orders are just "paying to be beta testers", remember that there is a 30 day no questions asked refund window. If you don't like it, just return it and they will even pay for shipping to send it back. If you are affected by the OSX issues, I think they have extended the window to 60 day refund period. So seriously, stop your whining. This has been a fantastic way of handling any soft-launch issues.

And funnily enough, I don't think any new games have been added to my account; I think I already own everything Valve has ever released... so lol for me.

For anyone asking, I think the criteria for getting this seem to be:

1) You need to have pre-ordered the steam controller OR steam link (I only pre-ordered the controller) from valve/steam directly
2) You need to have pre-ordered in the first wave of pre-orders (the ones who had a delivery date of October 16)
3) You need to have logged into steam on a mac at some point (this one is iffy, maybe you need to have logged into steam on a mac recently? I don't know, but PC only players don't seem to be getting this.)

Also, if you're sending an email, don't forget to include your account name. Also, like nwharry said, be nice and don't demand. I went with the approach of explaining what worked and didn't (trying to be a helpful bug report) then mentioning I saw others had the issue and I was disappointed that it isn't working for me, that I'm considering returning it, and I was hoping I could also get the Valve Complete Pack. But again, I was nice, and you should be too.

Thanks for contributing your info. Can you go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/ and https://store.steampowered.com/account/history to see if you have something written there? What does it say? What's the date? Could you post a screenshot?

Not sure how to post a screenshot into Steam, will have to go to the web to do that, but it shows in the licenses (not listed in purchases cause I didn't purchase it) as "Valve Friends and Family Complimentary" given to me on Oct 20, 2015 and method of acquisition shows "Complimentary". Also, when you go to the Valve Complete Pack store page it will say that it's already in your library.

Yes, I got the whole pack too. I don't know if it includes updates or not, but I was really surprised when all these games showed up on my account and thought there was some big free weekend deal until it told me I bought them all yesterday, at which time I became REALLY confused until I found the news.

I don't even game on my macbook, but I installed Steam and some games on it some time ago.

Update: using the method of checking licenses posted above, I found that I have been given "Valve Friends and Family Complimentary" on Oct 19th. I also have a mysterious license for "Steam" (Complimentary) in there on Oct 3rd and Rocket League / Portal 2 complimentary from Aug 27th.

Everyone has the license for "Steam (Complimentary)". Even if you don't own any games, you'll still have it. And I think the date likes to jump around randomly.

I sent them an email directly to SteamHardwareFeedback -AT- valvesoftware -DOT- com.

When I saw this thread, I checked my email -- don't use my primary email for such things -- and sure enough, I have the email. it was sent earlier today. I already have all the valve games, so I checked my "licenses and product key activations." Yesterday, I was given the "Valve Friends and Family" license.

Edit: OK, I never had Half-life: Blue Shift on Steam and now I do. So it works. Neat! Thanks Valve. Now you just need to make some more games!

After a quick search I found this page which lists all the titles included in the license:

Good thinking about finding it on SteamDB. I already have the Valve Complete Pack so I can't easily tell if I got it or not, since it's not showing up in my licenses. However, I just checked my Left 4 Dead 2 DLC and it says I own the pre-order DLC which I aquired this Monday (two days ago). That's rather weird, since I got the email just today and sent my email yesterday. Maybe they did actually give it to me on Monday like everyone else but they didn't email until now. I'm still going to continue investigating because it doesn't show up in my licenses.

Looks like some emails are taking a few days to be sent. I got the Valve "Complimentary Family Pack" a couple of days ago, but I only got the email this morning.

Funny thing is, I've not used a mac in approximately 20 years.

I sent an email yesterday to SteamHardwareFeedback -AT- valvesoftware -DOT- com expressing my complaints that I couldn't use it on my Mac and got this email just now from SteamHardwareMac -AT- valvesoftware -DOT- com:

I already had all of Valve's games, but I certainly want their future games. I don't see anything showing up in https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/ or https://store.steampowered.com/account/history . People who got theirs initially: do you see it on either of those pages? Did anyone else get theirs granted after the initial bulk batch? If so, do you see it on those pages?

so your telling me tha we have to send them a support ticket??
No. Based on the text of the email, this is only for people who have logged into Steam on a Mac computer. I know this because I never sent in a support ticket and was still gifted the games.

I just want to say: Many thanks to Valve!

Does this deal apply to Windows and Linux users or just OSX users?
Thegreen16 21/out./2015 às 11:48
Just got mine. Thanks Valve!

"This will give you all of Valve's games (past, present and future) free of charge."

Thanks Valve!

And to others, you don't need to go check any SteamDB or billing history etc. Just hover on "Library" and then choose "Recent" and you will always see the games that you have been playing or you have acquired/received (gifts, bought etc) in history.

So for me, I see all the left Valve games in the row at top.
