You really tried with a game bought in the Windows Store? Becouse they are different of any game. Different even the non steam "Desktop Games" (I think that's how people are calling it). Its not a normal ".exe" game like the non steam games. I tried to add one, but not works. The problem, i think, is this unconventional executable file.

There was another thread about this mentioning Gears of War Ultimate Edition not working with the Steam Controller. The conclusion thus far is that Microsoft is blackboxing their Windows Store games, preventing anything that isn't designed by Microsoft from working on games downloaded through the Windows Store. GFWL all over again. The message is to swallow the entire console-ified experience or boycott out of respect for youself and the entire PC gaming community.

Really? My Logitech mouse configuration software, Setpoint (awful software by the way), works fine on Windows Store apps and games. So, MS are not blocking third party utilities. This problem can be solved, if Valve has the will.

If Valve creates a workaround for their own Steam overlay requirement.

for xinput to work steam injects it into the game it launches..(from what i gathered) it cant do this to windows store games.. basically as long as you can get an overlay it should be read as an xbox controller.. now I know this thread is old.. but i did find a way to make it work but not as an x input device.. I hope this helps. with any future windows or stuborn games you play.

Just set your preferred SC configuration as your Windows Desktop profile in Big Picture mode and tweak it for your liking. Tweaking could be more easy but it's doable. I used my preferred CoD config and tweked it to play Gears of War and it's just great. ;)
