How do I connect a DS4 controller using a Bluetooth Dongle?
I've been trying, but without success. Anyone knows how to do it? Thanks

If your computer doesn't have built in bluetooth then you can't. If it does then it's the same way you'd connect any bluetooth peripheral, go to bluetooth and scan for device.

You first have to go to big picture mode controller settings and enable DS4 support.
If that is already enabled, and it works wireless but not wired, then i don't know what's wrong, i don't use DS4, but enabling it in BPM is the first step.

The thing is that I do press the PS button + Share, but it takes a while before it pairs, and its longer than the time the lights will flash. Then the connection fails because of that...

Already did. I used my DS4 wired before

To get the DS4 into pairing mode you have to first press the PS and share buttons for about 5 seconds, and the LED will start blinking rapidly in a white hue, THEN you can pair it in your Bluetooth settings, and when paired to the PC, you can THEN add it to Steam via BPM.

As i said, i don't use a DS4, so if you already had the support enabled, i don't know what else to tell you. I just said to enable support first, since you weren't clear if you did it or not in your first post. :steammocking:

From pc, set Bluetooth to search mode and after that press both share & PS buttons together (5+...seconds) until controlles light starts blinking very fast.

When pairing has completed, connection needs pin code. Set it.

Open Big Picture and enable Dualshock4 support. Done.
(This works with Ubuntu so Windows should work also...)

Okay, I successfully connected my DS4 controller to my PC with my Windows bluetooth settings.

However, when I entered Steam, it did not detect my DS4 controller.

Heck, its connected but the controller is not working. The light on the controller is on, and it doesn't flash. I tried to use it on MAME and nothing. It's paired but it's acting like its not connected.

I do have a CD coming with the bluetooth controller, but really, it didnt help (wouldnt connect to DS4), so I uninstalled the programs of it

Am I missing some drivers? What do I do? Do I delete the DS4 controller from Steam controller if there is a way?

Also, I never had to enter a code when connecting it. Is it unusual? Where do I go to enter it?

Try resting your PS4 controller: https://support.scufgaming.com/hc/en-us/articles/231856908-How-do-I-reset-my-PS4-controller-

Could you possibly post any controller logs you have to https://pastebin.com or a similar site?

You can find them in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\logs, presuming Steam is installed to the default location. They will be named controller.txt, controller.previous.txt, controller_ui.txt and controller_ui.previous.txt.

@Vaxen - can you try running the latest beta client? We shipped a KEXT that should allow DS4 controllers to work when opted into Steam Input on OSX.

That would be a kernel extension usually found for BSD operating systems and MACOS. Like .ko files in Linux and some .vxd files in Windows. In other words, a driver.
