Enduring the Iris Heart scenes
I'm somewhat new to Neptunia; I finished Re;Birth 1 & 2 and grabbed 3 and VII during the sale. I had lots of fun with 1 and 2.

The gameplay in 3 is great, and it brought back my favorite maker (MAGES.). I want to play this game to the end, but the Iris Heart scenes are making the game so unbearable that I can only get through one chapter a day before I've had enough. At the moment, I've only managed to get into Chapter 4.

I'm considering skipping this game for now to play VII and return later. However, I know that MAGES. doesn't return in VII (as well as several other makers I like), so I'm hesitant to switch over to VII instead before I'm done with 3. Also, since VII is part of 3's continuity, I don't know if I'll miss critical plot details. I did read into 3's true ending, so I know what happens there, but I don't know anything about what happens between Ch4 and the True Ending.

The idea of skipping past all the dialogue when Iris Heart shows up has crossed my mind. The problem, though, is that I will certainly miss some big plot details (and I'll need a guide to fill me in on what happened and what to do next), and since Plutia shows up A LOT, Iris Heart could show up at conceivably any time.

I don't think there's a mod to specifically skip past the Iris Heart dialogue or scenes. Should I just skip past all the scenes with Plutia in it and hope a guide can get me through?

Actually, an argument can be made that Plutia is the actual main character in Re:Birth 3, despite Neptune claiming otherwise.

And really, Plutia is always there.

But... those are the best scenes...

Indeed Plutia/Iris Heart is the best and the IF scene I saw yesterday was really amusing. :IF_VII: Plutia/Iris Heart has been my favorite since Re;Birth 1 surprisingly. :rabu: :IrisHeartRebirth3:

I don't understand what you don't like about her as you did not mention, I'm guessing you really hate her personality or something. But yeah hmm. The game features a Museum I believe it was called where you can view all the scenes. The best thing I could think of is to either read what happens online somewhere regarding the story if you can find it or get somebody to go through the Museum scenes and tell you what happens regarding the story cutting Iris Heart out.

As mentioned above Plutia/Iris Heart are in the game for so much of it that it would be hard to get around. I guess if you wanted to play it you would most likely have to "endure" it however normally I think Iris Heart is pretty obvious to see coming. She pretty much comes only when Plutia gets rattled too much or told to transform and either is normally before a boss fight. Saying this though I don't see a problem why you can't play the scene until she transforms then skip it? Perhaps a mixture of skipping the viewing the message log may be helpful somewhat.

Not too relevant, but I am curious as to why you don't like Iris Heart? :IrisHeartRebirth3:

Well there is a skip button to ease your pain....
The developers REEEEEALLY went experimental with her character sometimes really testing just how far can they go with her scenes.... Her character is MUCH better in Megatagmension Blanc, Neptunia vs Sega Hard Girls and Cyberdimension Neptunia. In Neptunia vs Sega Hard Girls she is quite insane, but at least in that game she is insane for a reason I don't spoil.

She gives me a serial killer vibe, and I'm annoyed that no one tries to fight back when she gets into murder/torture mode.

I'm also considering replacing her VN-esque gifs with either someone else or a blank box. Replacing all her vo with sound files without noise would be great only if the game has her lines packed up in a neat directory. I'm looking into how to access and write to the game's pac files, which should have everything I want to change in there - I've seen some other instances of people replacing the Neptunia VN sprites and vo with other stuff, so it should be possible.

Edit: Also, I don't think it can be proven if Iris Heart secretly first degree murders people or not, but several things line up if so. That dude who was mentioned in the first Nepstation is a good example - the guy got impaled by a hang glider in a Planeptune park. It would make a lot of sense for Plutia - feeling more Iris Heart than usual - to have fun gliding and then arbitrarily murder a dude.

Iris Heart is "just" a hardcore sadist, not a murderer, you're somehow getting a very wrong impression

If anything, Nepgear is the murderer. Plutie is just kinky.

Wow those replies are actually gold. But yeah Plutia/Iris Heart would just beat up/torture someone. Poor Plutia if people think that. >:( and because of

poor Nepgear as well. :Nepgear:

I heard from a friend that the Conquest Ending wasn't well received so not sure if they have or will do anything like that again. (Only played up to Re;Birth 3 so far.)

Infact in the scenes I played they said Sadie was the best at torturing because of how good she is at it without killing the person. This supposidly left Arfoire a dummy for ages (Years?) and perhaps mentally scarred IF to watch. Even though Arfoire forgot, her body instinctivly shakes upon meeting again. :IrisHeartRebirth3:

Don't know where I got it, but I have it.

Its anoying yes. And they even fear her like she is strong or something, but in combat she is one of the weakest with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ skills and her buff arent useful like at all.
Also Plutia speaks way too slow and i mostly just skip her dialogs

I love how Plutia speaks, lol
she sounds high af... on something strong
TskR Illusion May 24, 2018 @ 12:00pm
Yeah I love how she sounds as well. She usually sounds so distant and content. I think the word "dopey" fits her pretty well. I like the way it works with Sadie and jokes as well as her general character. She can be a bit slow but so can the dialogue in general. Her personality is one of the many reasons I like her.

Hmm you thought Plutia/Iris Heart is weak? She's the one doing the most damage in my teams I find.

I am not sure what you mean by she is weak but I find she does a high amount of practically single target magic damage for a small cost whilst being only averagely tanky. She also has Hyper Heal as utility and she can boost her own damage. In battles I normally spend a turn or 2 buffing/debuffing with what I have then attacking full force. For Iris Heart it is normally for me HDD -> Megamodelta! on herself/Magic Casters-> Heal if needed which is usually not then throw out Fighting Viper 2's or EXE depending on situation. Her other abilities can be useful rarely as well. Whatever other character's utility is in my team normally adds well like Green Heart's Assam Link and Terai Division, White Heart's Defence Support and Mental Support though normally I don't use the tanky stats on her unless she needs it to which it's normally hard to tell until it's too late.

It depends on the situation though as for Plutia she has her 5-8 hit chains depending on whether you use Rush or Power Combos and 5 hit EX Finishers allowing for a decent charge rate on her SP or a fast if you can hit multiple enemies with it. I don't really see much point in using many spells except in the big fights so the smaller enemies are just setup/experience fodder really to which you can get through without much effort even using non HDD normal combos.

But yeah if you mean post game perhaps she is weak I'm not too sure as I have not got that far in Re;Birth 3 yet but she seems fairly strong to me before then but then again it depends on the situation like I'm not sure how many combos would be viable against the level 999 colosseum fights on Neptunia Re;Birth 1 but it seemed like not many. The roles needed most characters did not seem to fit well for those fights to which I ended up using Blanc to tank and Rom/Ram/Uni as ranged damage dealers.

I considered why I'm fine with the other killers but Iris Heart is intolerable.

The deaths of the Four Felons was a police action.

Everyone involved (except Team Rocket, who had it coming) was aware of why CPUs were dropping dead in Conquest, and even pushed Neptune/Nepgear to go ahead with it. No hard feelings there because everyone was being dumb in that ending.

Blanc is the only other CPU who could waste someone on a whim, but the victim would have to anger Blanc first, and the cause of death would just be bludgeoning by her hammer. The death would partially be the victim's fault, and the cause of death relatively isn't too bad compared to Plutia/Iris Heart.

Plutia is the only one who would be a team killer, and for flimsy or no reasons. Even worse, she makes it a point to be especially cruel to her victims. If Victory was made before mk2, a "Plutia kills/locks away everyone" conquest ending would make a lot of sense. It would go like this:

> Rei and co. bomb Plutia's basilicom to kill off a CPU or two.
> Plutia gets angry and goes super mode; the Sages get slaughtered.
> Iris Heart turns on her teammates and incapacitates everyone, because "time for torture hurr durr".
> Everyone gets locked up in Plutia's dungeon so Iris Heart can do what she does. Considering the CPUs are immortal, the non-Plutia CPUs would be tortured for eternity.

Considering what Plutia's already done by Ch4, she looks like she could start a Plutia Wins Conquest Ending at any time, even though the writers themselves said a Conquest Ending won't happen again. It's amazing no one has tried to assassinate her yet.
