But you might want to play both since both of these two Tales games takes place in the same world but with a 1000 years of difference. It is okay to play whichever game in order since both have standalone stories and characters, but I would recommend to play the Prequel first, which is Tales of Berseria, which takes 1000 years before Zestiria.
If you try Berseria first you prob wont like Zestiria that much. Berserisa just ♥♥♥♥♥ on Zestiria
There is a demo version for Berseria, so try that out before you touch either game.
I didn't like Velvet that much... I watched videos of skits around youtube after I refunded, she rather feels like a emo filled angry protagonist in a way.
But then there is Sorey and Rose in Zesteria, both incredibly annoying characters in a way.
Everyone has their own opinion and priorities. I don't disrespect them.
Yes I am aware she was imprisoned for 3 years and was betrayed by her family.
