2.0.0 Dev Notes - After Mars?
So – many Capitalists may be wondering what our thought process was for introducing the new Mars planet, and what the future holds for AdCap. Is it going to be new planets from here on out? What about new features?

First things first: Mars rationale! There are a few reasons we introduced another planet to exist alongside the Moon and Earth.

We wanted to introduce a FAST planet! From it’s earliest designs, AdCap had a bunch of different balancing schema that we experimented to see what would be the most fun. We found that different rates of progress had different appeals – when we made progress super fast it was super satisfying. When we made progress slow, it was super challenging (but a super relief once completed).

So we decided, when designing more investments (to give players more to do) we would introduce a set of investments that were slow (the Moon) for a challenge, and a set of investments that were fast (Mars!) for a super satisfying experience. Super! (Sorry – no more supers).

Our preference would have been to launch both of these planets at the same time (so that players could contrast and play what they enjoyed most), but we had a lot of other work to do on AdCap in tandem with new features (back end stuff, bugs, stability, file size, etc. etc. etc.) So we decided to launch the planets in phases.

Unfortunately, on a side note, without Mars to balance the slow pace of the Moon, the Moon felt agonizingly slow. The planets were always meant to exist in a balanced trinity, so the lack of a satisfying quick planet made many Capitalists wary of diving into the Moon completely.

Even now, we’ve rebalanced the Moon and made it much more realistic and satisfying to finish. This, in addition to the intro of Mega Boosts, we hope will make the AdCap experience feel “complete”.

So what’s next? More planets? Actually no! With the launch of Mars, we feel that there’s enough content to satisfy most players, so now we’d like to start working on some cool new stuff! New features, new events, and some new surprises we hope shake things up in a fun way.

So keep your eyes out for the future stuff, try out the latest stuff, and let us know what sort of stuff you’d like to see next. We love working on this stuff.

Thanks for reading! And thanks, of course, your continued interest in Capitalism.

LIES!

The moon rebalance is much better to play after this adjustment. Thank you.

Nice one - I hope rebalancing late-game Earth is in your plans too !

The moon re-balance is killing me right know.
I'm on a fast income level on earth right now where I can reset mutliple times a day. Moon on the other hand just reached decillion for me (talking about slow, playing since launch ...). Now I can reset right after buying back up from a reset while earth has a reset wating ...

Too much to do for an idle game! :P

Death Star.

It's no small moon ;D

Other features could include purchaseable side businesses and within you'd need to buy specific things, or even alter things inside existing businesses. So for Lemonade Stands, you'd edit the lemons, the water, the sugar, the cups etc. You've already sort of done this with unlocks and upgrades but this would be much more hands on. Just a thought anyway. It'd be a fairly large update though.

I'd like some math available to verify that it's possible to "finish" the moon within a human lifetime. And I'd like lategame Earth adjusted similarly. The biggest problem with the game right now is achievements that are literally impossible to attain - fixing that needs to be a priority.

Have you logged into the moon since updates?

I've reset at least 8 times in the last 1.5 hours, always with ~4x more AI than I had previously. At this point I'm up to ~15 mins between resets for double or more, and I've gone from 100 GL to approaching 300 in that time. Currently at 2.35 Septillion AI, with another 2 Sept built up for reset.

The balancing did do some good.

It is good to see youhave more plans for the future. I'm a little bit worried about the click boost though. For me, the great part of this game is the idle part. I can log in, buy restart and buy new upgrades and go off again for a few hours. The best part of this is that I am not required to actively click everything everywhere to gain an advantage as long as I upgrade the right thing in the right order. I would prefer it to stay that way, I don't want the possiblity of multi-increasing my boosts because I have a clicker pointed at the screen which does the work for me. Please don't add that.

Clicking on the thing only speeds it up, it's not mandatory to use this feature. It's only an optional bonus

Thank's for the update....

But I think the balancing act got a little out of hand....The moon is so fast that you'll be able to sell every 30-40 seconds - and you'll get new angels by a factor of x4000!!!!

What's up with that??

The game turned into a mainstream autoclicker game with this. Big dislike.
