Bug? Connection Error?

I recently started this game again 2 days ago but after logging off and trying to load up the game the next day i am now constantly getting this: Connection Error - unable to connect with the servers. Please ensure you have a stable internet or data connection and try again.
Well x.x my net is working just fine and i haven't changed any settings on my computer that may conflict with the game :(
Ive tried turning off shields, the game is already set in the firewall... i dont know what else to do >< reinstalling and validating doesn't work. Can anyone help?

Not really- It works fine when there isn't a event going but when there is it "might" let me in?? If i don't get in i seem to have to wait for the event to end to even be able to play so it's a gamble on the next event launch

Others say restarting their router + clearing steams download cache can fix it

Whilst writing this post from the very same PC & listening to a live radio stream the above message seems a bit odd.
