We'd like most of our traffic to be on Steam! However we'll still maintain a presence on other social media platforms :)

Steam ftw regarding ARK info..
Everything will be featured here. Articles, dossiers, new info straight from the devs, mods, etc. etc. etc.
Just so much easier.

I like the flappy flying reptiles though.

A rather interesting choice, Jat! May I ask why your group chose to focus on the steam boards? It's a rather interesting decision, and one that I haven't seen often chosen! :)

and a good one.. why should people use a third party site when this is where the game is? why don't those reddit users come here instead? is reddit selling them the game?
maybe it's just me, but reddit sucks..its like a hang out with bunch of people gathered up that have nothing else to do..

This is reddit, just a "ask random peeps on the web" place to hang out and do nothing.

I kinda agree. I've used reddit for a few games, and I never really felt a sense of.... Community? I've already had 4+ people add me to their friend's list to play with them when the game's released, and I've asked several people and they all said sure! It makes sense from a group perspective. A very good choice if they want to encourage group play, and discourage KOS.

Guess I should have just taken a second to think. With the Friend's List + Gaming feature of steam, it just makes sense!

We're releasing the game on the Steam platform and it has a ton of useful features already integrated into the client - it just makes complete sense. As for Reddit, that's meant to be a place where people share news/whatever really and the whole upvote/downvote thing - we shouldn't really dictate the content that goes there.

Thank you very much! :) Upon thinking about it a little more, you're completely right. It just makes sense, and it's a little surprising that most other MMO's out there aren't utilizing steam. Especially since making a friend and playing with them is incredibly easy on steam.

Best answer bc when we had TSL issues reddit kids decided to do this and control convo/gain massive favor from devs and started to ruin the community

I prefer reddit because you can actualy sort posts by topics and such and find the new ones or the popular ones. The Mods on the sub reddit are the devs from what ive seen which means that i doubt they would censor anything and if they did someone would make an outrage out of it. Also steam is blocked in many places while reddit might is not (that depends).

Everyone has a steam account tho if they plan on getting the game through EA not everyone has a reddit account.
